This is a nice product that does what I wanted
This is my first rifle-mount light; the illumination is very good even at the low-power setting. I'm still working out the best way to mount the remote switch, and they give you parts to get it done if you already have picatinny rails. The 10-tap programming works, although, it seemed odd at first. Turns out you don't need to switch settings all that often, if at all, once you got it the way you want.I had no idea if 1000 lumens was too much or not enough, but it seems plenty bright to light up an area even 50 yards away. I think the low setting is 60 lumens and is plenty good for most things inside (i.e., finding keys, stuff under the fridge, etc.), and it runs a lot longer than the bright setting.Construction is sturdy and reasonably light for its size. It's nice having a rechargeable battery since the CR123s are not cheap. The bigger part of the rail clamp is integrally built into the body tube, so it won't be coming off (the thumb wheel, bolt, and half the rail clamp look like they can be taken off). The packaging is fine. Manuals are very small print with versions in English, Spanish, French, and German. Overall, I'm very happy with it. I gave 5-stars because it works for me even being inexperienced with this kind of product. Lastly, even if the shipping was delayed because of massive snow, it still got to me on time.

Best MLok Mount for These Lights: No More ARISAKA
I never use the picatinny mount for these and found other ways to mount them with MLok at a 45 degree angle. The best mount I had found at the time was the Arisaka Offset mount. The Arisaka is expensive and didn't even come with the necessary tool to mount it with, so I had to buy that on top of the already high price. On the other hand, THIS mount that Streamlight has started shipping these lights with is much, much better. Not only is it included in the price of the long gun kit; it's made out of a good material (I'm pretty sure it's lighter than the Arisaka) and gets the light MUCH closer to the handguard than the Arisaka does. It really tucked in there. I'm impressed. It's always a plus when a manufacturer RnD's their own accessories compatibility and warranty wise. Usually it seems that (sometimes) companies in the firearm accessories business refuse to innovate, so I am really glad Streamlight did this.As for the light itself; this is my 4th HLX, and I'll probably buy another in like a year. They're great lights. When I saw the new mount; I had to grab another.

Highly effective
How did I do without this for so long. Ordered two by accident, one is AR-mounted and the other on the shotty. You'll need to plug the charger into the battery in case that wasn't clear on the page. Seriously bright. Setup was simple and once you sort out the hand/switch location it's intuitive. Highly recommended.

Budget excellence, but consider the 2.0 version.
This streamlight is one of the cheaper duty grade weapon mounted lights available. Good aluminum construction with waterproof o-rings. This is not a small light. If you want a really compact unit, this isnt it.1000 lumens is good, but not impressive. However the beam is tight and the hot spot has a blinding 27,000 candela.Micro-USB recharchable 18650's are a good battery choice. The battery takes several hours to charge, so get extra's if you use the flashlight a lot. If not, the one battery should last many years with recharges.Note: There is a 2.0 version of this light with USB-C recharging that does not require removing the battery from the light. It's not too much more expensive, and I would recommend getting that version.

Streamlight makes great lights for the money
I've used streamlight for probably 10+ years. Their lights are amazing for the money. They're easily half the price of their competitors, sometimes more than half, and they work amazingly well. The light is really bright, definitely not the brightest on the market but absolutely up there with the top competitors. I've carried a ProTac handheld light for probably 10 years. I used it working security and just as my every day carry. That thing was beat to hell and still works great. This is the weapon mounted version, so if I had to bet this is probably just as durable.A really awesome point I didn't know when I bought it and I don't see in the listing is that this light uses the surefire m600 mounting system. Any light mount that working with the m600 (and m300 I believe) will work with this light. It's a great feature that adds to the versatility and value of the light. I recently bought a mount and will update with photos when it comes. One negative I do have to say is the pressure switch isn't great. You have to press more towards the back of the switch to get a full output beam. The on/off button can have light pressure applied to achieve the same result as the regular pressure pad but I doubt most people would have the fine motor skills to do that consistently under stress. After some practice it's not hard to consistently hit the correct spot on the pad but I just wish it was a little more forgiving.Ultimately, if you're looking to buy a solid weapon light to get rid of that stupid UTG one you bought when you didn't know any better, this is definitely a good entry into the high end market that allows you to get the most for your money.
