Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP - Onyx (Renewed)

The media could not be loaded. Was packaged well and came with a charger! Super excited popped in a game I played as a kid 20+ years ago! Waiting to see what the battery life will do in the long run but so far it’s in great condition and I couldn’t be more excited! At first the game came up blank but I took the cartridge out and blew in it and it’s working and saving not bad for a game that has been sitting in a cabinet for 20 plus years!

Product description says - "When it's opened, gamers are in for a treat -- the screen can display up to 32,000 colors, and has a backlit screen for comfortable game viewing". You can see in the pictures the difference in the displays. Back-lit SP is AGS-101 while Front-lit SP is AGS-001 the onyx Sp is what I received and yellow I already owned. Cleary says on the received unit it is a AGS-001 "Front-lit" which isn't what the description said. Unit also had a small damaged spot on the screen shown in the Pokémon ruby picture.

There were very minor scratches and scrapes on it but they weren't noticeable unless looking really hard. Some backlights are spotty but they still work. Overall 5 stars and great product.

Product arrived looking entirely original, sound is a bit quiet and is slightly dirty in the seams between the plastic panels, but works and backlight is decent. Game cartridges have to be pushed hard into game slot but I think that’s more a problem with the game carts themselves. Overall, I’m satisfied. We’ll see how the battery holds up.

Battery life is around 2 hours with the internal light turned on, which is far below the expectation set by advertising for around 10 hours. I replaced the battery but no change. Something else is wrong to be causing it to drain so fast.Whether it's the battery, or some other internal issue, but game cartridges corrupt after a few saves. Doesn't happen on the other model I purchased from a different retailer. It's not game-breaking initially, just visual bugs, or character models changing on restart, but it becomes unplayable after 5-6 saves. Happened on the three different cartridges, that had no issues when using them on my other device. The bugs required a game-reset to clear out, but have since been fine, so long as I don't use this Game Boy to play them.Needs some additional work to get it workable without bugs occurring and fix the battery drain issues.

Games run great and it came with a charger! I've been running Pokémon Crystal on it for over a week now and everything has been great!

I was skeptical at first, but after receiving the gameboy advanced sp glad to say everything worked in perfect condition. I charged it with the charger provided, it turned on, and was immediately able to get started with a game.
