Connecting Threads 100% Cotton Essential Thread Set - 26 Spools 220 Yards Each with Carrier

I have been using Connecting Threads for years and found the product to be high quality as well as economical compared to other cotton thread. So, when I saw this fine assortmant, I bought it to fill in my very extensive thread collection. Then I told a quilter friend about it and she wanted some as well. She's not online, so, back online for me and had an order sent to her and she was as thrilled to get them as I was.

Love the cotton thread for cotton fabric. Like the storage container it comes in. love the colors and just the right amount for projects that don't require a lot of sewing.

I like the wide variety of colors in this collection. I'm using it for English paper piecing and I needed smaller spools with many colors for my travel bag. I do like the plastic case the thread came in. You can store the thread in there, the plastic had a small crack most likely happening during delivery, but since I am not keeping it in the case it doesn't matter.

It is strong, smooth. The black isn’t a true black though.

I needed some cotton thread to use for English paper piecing a quilt block. Usually I use a neutral color like light gray, but in this case, I needed to match the thread closer to the fabric colors. This assortment from Connecting Threads is perfect. The thread is 50 wt. and is smooth and strong for hand sewing or machine sewing.

At $1.15 per spool these are a good buy. I have lots of the bigger spools mostly neutral colors and white but occasionally need a color I don’t have. I don’t want to buy a big spool of a color I need for a certain project so these are perfect.

I am just starting getting into EPP and wanted a nice selection of 100% cotton thread for hand sewing. The listing photos show dark and saturated colors of glossy threads. The actual product has much lighter colors and the thread has more of a matte finish. Additionally the texture is very toothy, making the experience with hand sewing feel rough. The thread is strong, however, and doesn’t fray too much when threading a tiny needle, so that is good. If I continue my EPP hobby I will eventually invest in Aurifil or Gutermann, but this is fine as a low investment.
