Transformed firm bed surface. No more pain.
This created a new bed. I had purchased a firm Serta bed. It never really broke in. Side sleeping was uncomfortable as well as sleeping on my back. Some nights I could swear I was sleeping on a hard lumpy mattress, tossing and turning a lot. If I had minor back pain from the day, my bed would make it worse. Now with this mattress topper, it changed everything. It doesn't sleep hot. Feels like any other bed I have had temperature wise. BTW - I weigh 200lbs.My mattress now has a springy, cushy feel to it and the pressure points from my hips and shoulders are no longer causing discomfort. I'm not waking up a lot. I feel this supports my body curves with a subtle hug. I was skeptical at first and it was worth the price because I didn't want to buy a new mattress. Saved me $$$$$.It smells of fresh cut grass with a hint of vanilla - vegetal - natural. Does not smell like chemicals. I draped it over a chair and let it air out. I could smell it in the bedroom, but it was not annoying at all. Kind of like having a new carpet or new car smell that over time dissipates. After several days, I sometimes catch a slight whiff of it when laying on it and then easily ignore it. So it's fading more and more. I know some people are very sensitive to smell. I absolutely hate fragrances. They cause my sinuses to burn or I get fragrance fatigue. This topper does not do that to me.I didn't get it with cover. I put it directly on the mattress and then covered it with a fitted mattress cover. Over that the sheet. So there are two layers between me and the mattress and I think this has kept any scent to a whisper. With this 2" thick topper, my old fitted sheets remain functional and I use sheet garters because the sheets are stretched to the max. The mattress is on the firmish side, but it really does give and it's just soft enough and it feels of quality. I think that had I gotten the softer one that I would be bottoming out to my firm bed surface. Rather than try the 3" which I thought would make the bed too tall and make my old bedding useless, I decided on the 2" for a trial run. Glad I did that. It's not gloriously transformative into an imported Swedish bed, however, it made a HUGE difference. If it didn't, I had 30 days to return it. It's a keeper for sure.I sleep like a baby now and don't wake up feeling stiff in my lower back. I feel like my body is healing.

I sleep very comfortably on the floor with this- perfect comfy minimalist sleep solution
I wanted to dump my bed and get more space to use during the day for yoga, lifting weights, and just a less claustrophobic existence.Looked at Japanese Shikibutons, but I can't and don't want to provide the special care required to keep them from getting moldy (ie sunning them out once a month). It's a huge chore, and they can also get dirty and damaged in this process. They are also very expensive.I chose natural latex because of its long life, its natural resistance to mold, insects and general deterioration (its essentially a form of rubber- rubber doesn't go bad easily).I'm 6' tall and 175lbs, and all the mattress pads I chose to buy with Pure Green's Cover. I also used a Twin XL fitted sheet in all my tests. At first I tried the 2" Firm directly on my carpeted floor. It was NOT comfortable. I did feel the floor through the pad, and it did not feel good on my shoulders and hips in side sleeping positions. I felt it was bottoming out, and I was concerned that if I could feel that now, it might not go the distance as far as longevity. I tried this for about 5 nights in a row, hoping to adjust and I did not.I then ordered the 3" medium firm, and it was the perfect Goldilock's choice. It is just soft enough and thick enough that side sleeping is a joy and bottoming out is no longer a concern. I slept VERY well the first night, and I have absolutely no complaints. This is a perfect shikibuton replacement. Some thoughts:I love I can fold this/roll this up into roughly thirds and stand it up in the corner of my room. The 2" was about 20lbs and the 3" is about 30lbs in the Twin XL size, so the better solution is heavier. I can still fairly easily manage wrangling it up and putting it away in the morning in less that a minute. I would never choose a mattress pad on weight if it kept me up at night, which the 2" pad did.I feel like I've achieved my objective of a minimalist sleeping solution that doesn't have a lot of care and upkeep. My last mattress was a full sized natural latex mattress with multiple layers. It was like 12" thick, and super super heavy. It lasted me 20 years until it started to give up last year, so I have had a good experience with natural latex as a bedding material.I think what I am amazed by the most is that I am very comfortably sleeping on 3", not 12". I feel like I have found that point of just enough and not more to get a great night's sleep. I am very very happy.I wish I had discovered this earlier, I've spent my whole life with oversized mattresses consuming my floor plan, and I want my space back. The great thing about Twin XL as a size is that if you have a partner (or get one in the future), all you need to do is get a second pad and together they create the footprint of a King sized mattress. This is done often with Japanese Shikibutons, but a perfectly doable thing with these latex mattress pads.I'm in California and in fairly dry weather. I don't have dampness or mold as an issue. If those do somehow begin to act on my mattress pad, my intention is to just simply replace the cotton cover for $50. I'm not worried at all about the latex core, mold will never damage it.If YOU live is a place that is damp and moldy, and plan to place this directly on a surface that could get moisture accumulating, you might want to look at a Twin XL sized tatami mat- or just resort to taking off the cover and washing it a little more often- or taking the and cover off and sunning it out once a month. Still way easier than taking out a full shikibuton. If you're a minimalist looking for a comfortable back and side sleeping solution that you don't have to bend over backwards to maintain that will most likely last for a least 10 years (maybe more), get the 3" Medium Firm Mattress pad. You'll be very happy, too.
