I needed this on a long gate (6-foot) on grass. I was initially worried it wouldn't work as well on grass as it would on concrete but it hasn't been an issue. Even after it rains, the wheel supports the gate and rolls well. It was easy to install and hasn't needed to be adjusted. I've had it on this gate for 2 years now.

There's not much clearance between my heavy gate and the ground at the low (open) side, and the ground slopes up from there to close the gate. It was easy to mount the wheel at an angle, which I had to do because of the low clearance, but I was afraid the the increasing downward pressure as the gate rolled uphill would cause the wheel mount to slip around the metal bar I attached it to. I needn't have worried. This thing is a beast -- very sturdy, holds tight, and the heavy gate glides uphill to close, no problem. I had previously purchased a different wheel that didn't fit the bar properly, but this wheel was exactly what I needed to clamp onto a 2" diameter round metal tube. I could not be happier.

Well, after 14 years I decided to try one of these to help the gate. It's long story on what is required to keep the hinges stable and the gate not dragging on the ground. Glad I got them. Thanks

These wheels are great for river rock drive ways I installed my set of wheels on 1 1/2”square tubing gates they roll great!
