in-ear monitors
I am a drummer and currently play in a loud heavy metal band. I also play drums in church and for church functions. I bought this to fabricate my own in-ear monitors to use for live shows and practice. I fabricated the plugs just as the package described(using a water bottle cap between my front teeth to keep my mouth open so the plugs would form correctly) and then put $5 big-lots isolation headphones into my ear canals(not too far, you can't do this wrong or you will hurt yourself permanently) where they would normally fit (while the radians plugs were still wet and pliable). I let them dry for 10 minutes, pulled them out, cut holes where the speakers in the headphones are(it didn't stick to my ears or my headphones), and plugged them into my personal mixer. I practice daily, 1 to 5 hours with these monitors in. They never fall out, the drums sound amazing, and the outside noise is nearly eliminated. I recommend this to all my musician friends as a cheap alternative to going to an ear doctor, getting pro molds made and spending hundreds on a set of headphones that may last as long as the big-lots headphones. This was a great and affordable way to make my own in-ear monitors.I have been using the same plugs now for over a month, I can clean them with rubbing alcohol, my ears don't ache, they are comfortable and like an unnoticeable, awesome addition to my practice routine. I would and have been recommending this to all musicians. I am currently disciplining myself to beat the world records for fastest hands and fastest feet. I'm at 1000 beats per minute with both hands and feet. This is definitely an excellent product to help in my endeavors!!!!I would also like to add that it was my first time doing this, I did one ear at a time and didn't mix the portions until I was ready to put them in each ear. It really does set up in 10 minutes. If I have to do it again, I will use smaller portions for each ear because I was able to make a back up set of plugs with the left overs, but they are a little smaller and probably not as reliable because there's not much material on them. These seem like they will last forever if I take care of them the way that I do now. I can also pull the headphones out of the radians, and replace them if the headphones go bad. Really awesome product!!!After reading some of the other reviews, I would like to add that I am extremely disciplined, I read and follow instructions carefully, and I tend to be a perfectionist or at least very thorough in the things that I do. If you are kind of clumsy, or don't trust your abilities to do this stuff, I wouldn't try to do it without help because you can damage your ears if you do this wrong or push the material too far into your ear canal.-It does say in the directions not to push it into your ear canal. DON'T PUT IT IN YOUR EAR CANAL!!!!!GREAT STUFF!!!!!!!!

Wonderful product. I used daily for over a year. RUNNY REVIEW NOTATION
I commute by way of motorcycle rain or shine. Riding a motorcycle at highway speeds can damage your hearing over time so I always wear protection. After trying the squeeze and sticks and those silicone stuff in your ear kind, both of which worked fine, I tried these. They are amazing and very motorcycle commuter convenient. You just pop them in, helmet up and ride. They have to warm up to seal perfectly allowing you time to walk outside from your office and giving you the ability to still hear people talking. Mine form so perfectly that I cannot hear conversations after they are warm and snug making me feel very protected. Follow the instructions and you will have a very nice pair of custom ear plugs that pop in and out of your ear in no time. I only used half of what came with the package and it was more than enough to form the earplug. Every few weeks, I will scrub them with soap and water with an old toothbrush. They are pretty firm so you dont need the case. Just a ziplock baggy or something. I had to buy new ones after a year only because I lost one.***RUNNY NON SETTING REVIEWS*** The first time I made my plugs, I only used half so I kept the other half around. After I lost a plug, I tried to use this material and it did not set anymore. If yours does not set, you either were sent old material or it was exposed to air. Get a refund and do try again. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. If it is setting correctly, it will sound like rice krispies in your ears. I imagine it is good if you clean your ears daily. I always have done so with q-tips after a shower so my plugs don't ever really get gross but I don't imaging everyone is as fastidious as I am.

Works great! Only earplugs to seal for me.
These work just as described. It could probably be better with a syringe to shoot the material into your ear, like Ear Inc. uses or giving more material as already suggested. The 3 times I've used it they all set up fine. It does take some trial and error, the directions say not to go into the ear canal but I had to try pretty hard to get it to even do that. However everybody has different shaped ears, so for some it might be more of an issue going in too far. For myself I actually create a point and try to get it into my ear canal some, going in to far is never an issue. After 10 minutes, they are hard, pull them out, done. I did make an effort not to move my jaw when it was hardening. I've shot a few times with these and they work as well as my headphones but are more comfortable. In the cold weather they are much nicer because you can wear a knit hat!I've tried many, many other brands of earplugs from cheap disposables to more expensive than these and I could never get any to seal correctly until I used these. Maybe I have funny shaped ears... but whatever, these work awesome.
