2 gallon Hard Cheese Mold
I just received the Mold 1kg = 2.2 lbs=2 gallon of milk curd (pending how much fat you get from Raw Milk) Homogenized will be a bit less. Therefore Max capable of 2 gallon batch. In regards to complaints about Follower needing to be trimmed. . .Ummm about that. So the Molds are made to taper, so the Cheese can be removed without tearing up your wheel of Cheese. Larger atop hence the Follower being to large to make it to the bottom of the Mold. Which One would not need it to go to the bottom unless they were making a 1/2gallon batch (buy smaller Mold) or no Cheese at all. This follower will go half way down the Mold before the taper stops it. One could do a 1 gallon batch with it as their smallest batch and 2 gallon aforementioned. Now that being stated, the Follower is larger than the smallest part (the bottom of Mold) due to IF the Follower were smaller to fit to the bottom of the Mold, when you put 50lbs of pressure on it, your cheese would come up around the edges of the Follower if One were making a 2 gallon batch. So the design is correct and seems to be robust enough to take the 60lbs of pressure One might use for Cheddar. While sharing IF you have a robust 2 gallon batch and it seems that the Curd will overflow, simply squeeze it off a bit. After all you are using Cheese Cloth to strain off the Whey. The other avenue is a bottomless Mold then your Follower will be true all the way through. I hope that was not too Cheesey.

very sturdy
it is very good quality material, I love the shape of the cheese I got with it, I only whish it had at least a few holes on the sides instead of only at the bottom of the mold. Other than that, I'm really happy with my purchase! great size, and material.

Follower too small, won't hold curds for 2.2 lbs of cheese
The curds come up around the sides of the follower, usually in a lopsided manner, so when the cheese is turned, it's lopsided for the next weight. The holes in the bottom are not adequate. Whey comes up over the top of the follower. Also, it will not hold the cheddar curds from 2 gal of milk. The cheese that it would hold, came out to 27 oz, or 1 lb, 11 oz, so; and I got this only by adding a few more curds after it had pressed a little at the lower pressures.
