I put off ordering these for a couple years due to the bad reviews. The ones I received were perfect.

Products are not as advertised. Much thinner and narrower. Unable to use as I had intended. The seller Malayan products will not return my messages and Amazon will not let me claim a return because they say I haven’t written the seller.

My husband’s hobby is knife making. I ordered this as part of his Christmas present. For the price and no lacking on looks and wood quality it is worth it. You can tell it is real because our dogs are constantly smelling it and trying to steal it for a chew toy. It arrived with no cracks or splits and the exact size we expected.

You have to understand this is not a man made thing here! It has blemishes. The thickness will somewhat vary. The particular ones I got were fairly the same size, but not exact. Had 1 bad spot but was going to take that off anyway. They’re about 3/8 thick. I like a big handle so I will add some spacing material for myself. Plenty thick enough for a pocket knife or even kitchen knife. I’m using for a full tang camp knife. Not a bad product. Just keep this in mind. If you’re needing exact measurements and exact use go with a man made product. These things do vary.

This material made my best knife even better. Readily accepts dye, I gave mine an epoxy coating to preserve the color, but natural would also be very attractive. Highly recommended. Tough stuff.

As to be expected from animal based materials, there is some variation in what is received. However it seems to be workable. I would definitely be prepared for the smell when sanding. Doesn’t smell very nice, wear an n95 mask or a respirator and you’ll be just fine. Should make some nice looking handles.
