Honeywell Home North 5500 Series Niosh-Approved Half Mask Respirator, Small (550030S), Black

My brother recommended this mask with P100 filters and I was happy to have it during Covid-19, when others are running around with no mask and no vaccine. It can be a little heavy and it scares people a bit sometimes, but that's kinda fun! The larger filters, meant for tear gas filtration, are even heavier, but when I spray paint, they are perfect as I can't smell the paint, so they must be working. The lighter P100 filters do let paint fumes through, but are more comfortable for around town, longer use.

Exactly what I needed for my job! It is lighter weight than I thought which is a plus for all day wear.

These masks are the best! But I wonder if the ones coming out in 2021 are a different rubber than my original (from 10 years ago) because this new one is stiffer and less comfortable... Everything else about it is like my original.

Here are the reasons for the 1 star Overall Rating:1. As shown in the pictures, the mask was assembled incorrectly at the factory. In the second picture, I pulled the rubber (grey) from under the cartridge connector (black). The rubber (grey) is all deformed. This is a sealing surface, and the deformation is unacceptable.2. It's about 2 weeks past the 30-day window for a return. I've been using North respirators for 20+ years and have never had a problem like this. Therefore, it never occurred to me that I should thoroughly inspect the respirator upon receipt.(It's interesting that if the respirator was purchased between 10/1/21 to 12/31/21, it can be returned until 1/1/31.)
