This Mini-DisplayPort to VGA adapter works exactly as I expect. It fits in a Mini-DisplayPort port and allows you to connect a VGA cable that you can use to hook up to other devices that accept a VGA connection, such as many projector and some (usually older, though some new ones still include it) monitors. I'm using this adapter on a Mac Mini, but all Macs made within the last few years and some dating as far back as 2008 when Apple introduced this connector should have either a Mini-DisplayPort or a Thunderbolt port, which this will also work with. Apple also sells these adapters, but this one is much cheaper. You just won't get the pretty white plastic.Note that this is just an adapter, not a Mini-DisplayPort to VGA cable. You will still need a VGA cable, both because this adapter is only a few inches long and also because it only converts Mini-DP female to VGA female. You'll need a "regular" VGA cable (male on both ends) to actually connect this to a device with a (female) VGA port.

I needed to connect my MacBook Pro 2016 to an older Samsung SyncMaster 204T monitor, and not wanting to spend 30+ dollars on a Thunderbolt adapter cable from Apple, of course I was immediately on Amazon and eBay looking for cheaper alternatives that would work for my situation. I was wary of some of the other cheaper cables on Amazon with some reviews that said they weren't compatible with new Macbook Pro 2016 models. But this one works perfectly!It came speedily and nicely wrapped in perfect condition, connects snugly to my HDMI cable (the pins don't really screw in properly to secure, but this has happened to me with multiple other adapters and it isn't really an issue) and fits nicely in my Mac's thunderbolt port. connection with my monitor is immediate and not laggy at all, with no interruptions even if the cable is moved.Thanks for saving me 20+ bucks!

I have a CRT monitor connected to a gaming laptop through this adapter and it works perfectly. The screw holes on the VGA side are a good touch, I'm always disappointed when they're missing since VGA cables can be pretty heavy. It actually looks surprisingly good on my desk too, not too flashy but doesn't look cheap either.

Works perfectly with my Surface Pro 3. No flickering, does not get hot, and plugs fit snug, both female and male. I use this adapter in conjunction with another USB to VGA adapter to run 2 additional screens on my i7 tablet (8gb RAM). There is no noticeable difference in performance of the computer and resolution is crisp on the two 1366 x 768 screens using the two adapters. I keep the resolution high on my tablet (2160 x 1440) for writing like a notepad (OneNote) and then two screens for my other work, typically compiling code and running several Internet windows or even multiple minimal system load programs.Bottom line, it work's well and does not exhibit any behavior that would make me questions quality or longevity.

The screen of my macbook pro gets very crowded when I attend zoom meetings. I have a very old Dell monitor that was lying around so I decided to use it as a second screen. I just plugged in the adapter and it worked right away. The graphics on the second screen was not that sharp but it worked for my purpose. I could not really tell if this was because the monitor or the adapter. At the end of the day, I am happy with my purchase.

I had my adapter for about 9 months, and then it died. I trouble shot many different things, and discovered it was the adapter. So, I reached out to the seller, to see if there is a warrantee. I didn't expect much, however, the seller worked with me and got me a replacement! This was crucial because I'm working at home due to the COVID lock-downs and really needed an extra monitor for work. 5 stars all around for the product and service!
