Lots of good ideas!
This book looked promising, so I purchased a copy. Once I got it, I was so excited that I gave my copy to a teacher friend of mine and bought another for myself! While my kids are grown, I sometimes have my friend's daughter (10 y.o.) over for projects. I showed her the book and asked her to flag the projects she thought looked good. She flagged so many, I had to have her prioritize the top three. The directions are clear with lots of pictures but also provide for options. There is information about the science behind the projects. A great way to reuse existing cardboard and have fun making useful toys/projects.

Some great ideas for today.
I'm a firm believer in encouraging children to make things from scratch. This book was bought for my new grandson & his dad. He will enjoy working with his dad when he's older bit. Dad can enjoy reading it now. Its use of cardboard is a great idea & easy to work with. This book will make a great gift for boy or girl, I think. Nancy

Lots building options that use tape and glue
The book is a full of a lot of great cardboard options to build, but they are connected with tape and glue, not bolts and nuts. I was looking for a book that I could use with the cardboard tool set. I bought that included bolts and nuts . This is not a book for that.

both fun and very informative
This book is for the use of children ages 9 to 14, but I (a grandmother) couldn't put it down until I had read every word. It explained how to make things with cardboard and other materials found in the home, but also explained (in a correct, but easy, manner) the scientific principals underlying their success. Also, each project was selected so that whoever constructed it could experiment and find other imaginative ways to change the construction. It would be an inspiration to the kind of child who liked building tings.

Perfect for all "cardboard smiths"
My other kids all call my 10-year-old a "cardboard smith" because he is always making things out of old boxes. I put this book in his stocking with a roll of duct tape and a (kid safe) box cutter and he has been in heaven! This book taught him so many cool techniques and has really helped him hone his skills. It has be great for helping him take care of our post-Christmas box pile, and the projects are super cool! 100% recommend for kids.
