Deep, Glossy Finish – Speedokote Jet Black is Outstanding!
I recently used Speedokote High Gloss Jet Black 2K Acrylic Urethane on a car restoration project, and I’m blown away by the results. The depth of color is absolutely stunning—it’s a true jet black with a rich, mirror-like gloss that really makes the vehicle pop. It looks like a professional, showroom-quality finish. The paint laid down beautifully with a smooth, even application. It had great coverage, and the flow and leveling were impressive. With the right prep and technique, I experienced minimal orange peel and virtually no runs or sags. It also cured to a hard, durable finish that holds up well against the elements. What I love most is how easy it is to work with. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a serious DIYer, this paint gives reliable, high-end results without breaking the bank. It pairs perfectly with Speedokote’s clear coat for an extra layer of shine and protection.Highly recommend for anyone looking to achieve that deep, high-gloss black finish. I’ll definitely be using Speedokote again on future projects!

High gloss finish, durable cleans up nice and easy.
Ive been using this product for a solid 2 years now mostly on alloy wheels. I personally really like it. Paint dries quick i normally install wheels back on vehicle after a solid 3 hour cure (not to say it cant be done sooner) normally within 30-45 minutes after last coat is sprayed they are dry to the touch testing the tackyness on the tape on tires. I normally shoot a tack coat and a wet coat thats normally enough the gloss is super high. A couple things ive noticed is that it is super thin i got to the point im spraying a black primer on every job so that the single stage covers on its second coat. Its also very thin and is prone to running if you lay it on heavy. Overall this is a great product and will continue using if they make it just a tad bit thicker would be great.

Worked great restoring my trailer
After sanding all panels and aluminum trim. I used a 2 part epoxy paint/sealer to cover all the exposed areas. I bought 2 gallons of this speedkote gloss black single stage paint. I am not a painter nor am I a body guy. I read reviews of this product and did my own research on shooting this product. I purchased a hvlp gun I used a 1.7 tip. The paint when opened was clumped up thick at the bottom of the can. I mixed it up which felt like forever. Until the paint was smooth. It appears thick and didn’t drip off my stir stick very well. So I decided to mix up both gallon cans together so I had uniformity. I ended up reducing the paint 20% which sprayed very consistently. I did set my gun up prior to shooting the trailer and tested it out on a test panel to get the pattern I wanted. The product went on very easy. I was able to see the pattern when applying and use an overlap that was consistent. Consistency was key. Both in motion and application as well as product and volume. My air compressor is a 60 gallon and kept up nicely. Painting a large trailer is tricky vs a smaller vehicle. The canvas is massive and has to be done uniformly and consistently. I had paint mixed up ready to go. So I could continuously shoot with minimal interruption. I did 3 coats total and was very pleased with the results. I have never painted anything automotive before. So this was an overwhelming experience overall. But in hind sight preparation was the key to success. I planned out each phase and was ready for any issues. By the time I finished a side of the trailer and worked my way around. The paint on the first side I started with was ready for the next coat. I used every bit of both gallons. So far it’s held up nicely and transformed my dull ugly trailer into something well, not so dull and ugly. I plan on using this product again for another project.

No issues at all, sprayed nice, looked nice.
Very happy with this paint so far. I painted the front clip on my motorhome with no issues what so ever. Paint went on smooth and was very glossy. I sprayed the 2 coats they recommended only because it said to on the can but I going forward I would only spray one and my 3 coats of clear after. I didnt see a benefit to 2 coats of base color. Who knows Im no painter by trade I just paint my own projects.
