Knowledge is of many dimensions
Dimensions of thoughts this book provoked is countless. Seeing people with less knowledge or money or time etc as low and seeing people who have more of these as god's are what we do without self reflection. Thinking in the dimensions of others teaches us compassion and empathy and oneness

Highly recommended !!
One of the Best Classic I have ever read. The author has done an intricate job of describing real world problems such as racial bigotry, status of woman in the society etc in a fictional yet true two dimensional world.Imagine a world without third dimension - A two dimensional world a Flatland - whose residents are geometrical figures such as triangles, squares, pentagon and so on to the circles - who are priests(the perfects). Where the status of people in society is based on the regularity of the shape and the number of sides they have - the more will be sides the higher will be the status - just like our own society, rich, poor and middle class. One day there comes a stranger from different land - the lands of third dimension - to enlighten the citizen of flatland about the world beyond Flatland, how would you react ?Highly recommended !!

Interesting sarcasm on human understanding using Mathematics
A fresh and nice perspective using Mathematics on our limited understanding of the world. An imaginative world of 2d trying to think of higher dimensions. Short interesting book.

A Unique book of fiction
The book is unique in nature. It is also very well written and the flow of ideas is very consistent.Anyone who ever wanted to read a mathematical fiction book, this surely should quench the thirst.Quite subtly it hits out at anarchism too.

An extraordinary use of dimensionality to expound human nature.
An interesting writing of the human world using the context of geometrical dimensions. I first apporached this book as a tool to insight into flatland life, but as it turned out it is a reflection of human nature elaborated neatly using basic geometrical references.

Absolutely a Masterpiece
Absolutely amazing novella by Edwin Abbott Abbott and it'll definitely make you think about the romance of wandering in different dimensions. The story is a little hard to understandd but if you can understand then I'm sure that you're gonna love this book.
