Good basic Vesa mount
I considered several more adjustable, and more expensive, mounts. But this one seemed sufficient, and I'm pleased with it. I really like the fact that it freed up the space under and a little in front of the monitor previously used by the large base of the 27" monitor's included stand.I had planned to stick some thin panels on both sides of the C-clamp to protect the desk, but found I didn't need to since the clamp is padded on both surfaces. I didn't try the grommet base. The mount's VESA plate is small, which allows me to use the quick-disconnect feature even though my monitor's mount area is recessed. The kit includes four thin washers & four 1/4" thick riser-washers to extend the plate for a recessed or curved monitor if needed, along with short and long M4 & M6 bolts. I did have to slide the desk out to install the C-clamp and pole, but I was then able to push the desk back close to the wall. The 15.5" pole provides plenty of range to move the monitor up & down; I'm using mine with the arm clamped about 5" from the pole's top.The range of motion is limited if the back of your desk is near a wall. The arm will create an "L" holding the monitor 7" or so from the pole. If you open the arm to a > 90-deg angle (it won't hinge much < 90-deg) you can push the monitor closer to the back of the desk at the expense of shifting the monitor further left or right from the pole; if extended to the max 16" you'd be nearly in-line with the pole near the rear of the desk. Limited by deep vertical shelf-mounts behind my desk which limited my pole locations and restricted me to a near 90-deg bend, I was able to push the monitor a couple inches further back, and nearer the pole, with some creative arm bends (see pic) that pushed the arm all the way back to the wall 2" behind the pole. Otherwise I might have had to consider a mount with a shorter arm, possibly without the hinge in the middle.Once height-adjusted you probably don't want to move it up or down often since that requires loosening & retightening the hex nut. It's *possible* to swing the monitor left or right occasionally, but I think it works better if you just set a position, adjust & tighten, and leave it there. Given a solid desk, it's sturdy and secure, and I'm not having any problems with the monitor bouncing as long I'm not jumping up & down or desk-dancing.

It’s all you need for the home office
Bought this one for the home office and it works great! I use it with the laptop and a 21 inch monitor. It freed up the desk space for the second monitor. The arm is adjustable and the open laptop fits perfectly under the monitor. It’s sturdy, although I don’t move it much. Very easy to put together and it came with the tools needed for assembling. You can clamp it to the desk or fit it in the hole that some desks have with a “nut” type gizmo that’s also included. For under $25, it’s a deal.

Solid construction
Easy enough to assemble, mounting is also easy. While it did take me a little bit to master the adjustments for height and tilt, it does work fine and holds its position. It is heavy duty and holds monitor just fine, lots of range of motion side to side and height-wise.Also has cable management available for a cleaner setup.Good price for a good stand

Well-Made Product
The single monitor desk mount was delivered to my house today. I was surprised at the weight of the box when I picked the package up. This is a very nice heavy duty item. I am not real handy by any stretch of the imagination and I was able to easily put this mount together without any problem. All the hardware and the necessary allen keys were included ... very happy that I did not have to make a trip to the hardware store! I used this mount to secure my 19" television (in our spare bedroom room) to the table we usually set the tv directly on. Before, the tv was seated on the table too low to watch tv comfortably. Now the tv is the perfect height (and I love the fact that it can be adjusted to be viewed at different angles). I also like the fact that clips were included in order to secure the cords ... makes it very neat. Additionally, there is more room available on the table now that the tv does not sit directly on the table (for items such as the dvr player/recorder).

It is possible to remove one of the links
You can remove one of the links in the arm, as per my pictures. Doing this does restrict the positioning more, as now the arm only moves in an arc about the base. But this is what I wanted, and I bought this hoping that this would be possible. The screws holding the links together are very tight, but once they start turning, they come out easily.I bought two of them, came in identical boxes, but the bases are just slightly different between the two. The one with the wider base is 17.5" tall, compared to 16.0" for the one with the narrower base. Doesn't bother me, so I'm keeping both. That height is from the desktop to the tallest point on the metal column (excludes the plastic cap). The included L hex wrenches (Allen wrenches) are terrible, and too short. Very difficult to sufficiently tighten some of the joints (especially the tile adjustment). Do yourself a favor and use a proper set of hex wrenches. 6mm for the vertical clamp around the pole and the tilt adjustment, 5mm for each of the link pivots (5mm wrench is not included with purchase, only needed if you want to remove a link like I did, otherwise it is not necessary), and 4mm for the base-column screws (these are not pre-installed, and the included wrench works OK).Each came with two snap on plastic cable management hooks for the horizontal arms (feel cheap, but they work fine), a vertical cable management/wrench holder for the column (need to be slipped onto the end of the round column, you can't snap it on after the fact, plan your assembly accordingly), the desk edge clamp base, and a grommet clamp base. Also comes with four each of M4x12, M4x16, M6x12, and M6x16 screws for the VESA mount, and four plastic spacers which can be used for a monitor with a recessed VESA mount.I would recommend this mount for a situation where you want to set your monitor(s) once and don't intend to move them in use.
