This "husband pillow" or "reading pillow" is exactly what I was seeking. It is firm, but not too firm. It certainly ain't squishy like many of this style are made. The fabric is strong. The back is tall, the wings are wide. You can sit up and read in bed using this thing, no squirming or repositioning required.

out of the multiple wedges and bed loungers i tried for reading on a sofa or bed, this is the one i am using. i have a living room queen sized futon with pretty low sides - i use this facing sideways so i can read with my legs splayed out on the sofa. it keeps me upright, comfortable, and reading. i had also bought one like this ( a bedrest, different brand), but 18" tall (not 21" like this one), and that one was just too short for me-- no back or neck support. i am 5'8, so i'm not that tall. this gives me a good amount of support so i can read for hours and be ok. it's not like being hugged in a luxurious cloud, but it's not TOO firm, it's not uncomfortable, it's firm enough to keep me up and feeling good. the arms don't cuddle you, but i don't care. i learned from testing that it's hard to find just the right firm/thickness/height for you, and for me, so far this is the very best one -- not what would expect bc it's the cheapest out of the many i tried, but it's the best one so far.

I use this pillow daily as I have to sit up part of the night to sleep. This is firm enough to support me, yet soft enough to be comfortable.

Great, high back gives me a head rest instead of my head falling back if I doze off watching TV. Fabric is very strong and srtoft.One criticism: The arms are too short. They call it 'Oversized'. The back is really tall but the arms are so short I had to return my husband's Bedrest (he's 6'2" / 240 lbs) because he could barely get his elbows on the armrests.I am 5"5" / 140 lbs - It's great for me.

After surgery had trouble sitting up. Bought this husband cushion, stands up on its own , soft yet not too heavy. Works well for this purpose.

Not as comfortable as hoped

My son prefers to work on his laptop while sitting on his bed. This bedrest is the best I have ever seen. It is tall with firm back support. It has a strong handle to move it on and off the bed. I bought the tan colored bedrest. I am very happy with this product.

Sturdy yet soft and comfortable, quality fabric, better designed than most back rests, allows my wife to read comfortably in bed.
