Excalibur 9 Tray Dehydrator with Digital Controller 4948 Black

Liked the glass door to check and easy to slide the shelves to quickly check how everything is drying. Still new to this but quickly became able to change/extend drying times. Can dry a good quantity in one go so efficient use of electricity. Remember the moisture has to go somewhere so use in a well ventilated space. So far very happy with purchase even though more costly than other dehydrators. It is American so you need an adaptor for UK use.

I love that Excalibur have brought out a model with a clear door so you can see how things are drying and that the same model is digital. It’s very easy to use and does its job really well. So far I’ve dried a full load of walnuts and a full load of apples. It was so much better drying the walnuts in the dehydrator rather than the oven, and cost a lot less. The apples came out so sweet and delicious, they make great snacks.The downside is, the particular item we received had very obviously been opened, taken out of the box and part of the packing discarded and the rest broken. The shelves were in the dehydrator in a higgledy piggledy fashion, not on the racks as they should have been and one of the mesh grids was partly split. I think the item we received was the exception rather than the rule, but I would have thought someone should have checked it out before it was shipped out again. Overall though I’m really pleased with this dehydrator.
