Great for new builders and Gundam fans alike.
It's such a simple, tiny kit, and yet it represents decades of history. The 'grandpa' is an iconic design, and one that almost every major suit in the UC (and other) timelines follows to some extent. If you're not a Gundam fan, none of that crap means anything to you, but if you are, you already know how important this suit is.The kit itself is only a few runners, and will take even someone completely new to model building only a few hours to put together. I only do basic snap-togethers of my my fits with the occasional panel-lining and decal application, so my pictures will represent exactly what you get out of the box. It's a very nicely posable model for something so small and simple, and its accessories are equally as simple and good looking. The fit of the pieces is spot-on, and the look remains iconic despite being simplified for a high grade. It stands up extremely well to extended playing around, which some of the more complicated models often will not, making it double quite decently as a toy for careful hands. If you're a gunpla fan, you either already have this kit, or just turn you nose up to high grades and don't want to even be bothered. Don't worry. I want the PG grandpa myself. One day... If for some reason you don't already have this kit, and enjoy throwing together high grades, seriously - get it. It's a fun little build. If you want to give a gift to someone who likes putting things together, likes giant robots (maybe even a Gundam fan already,) and likes having knick-knacks they can actually play with from time to time, this is a great pick. It's extremely cheap, it looks great put together without any paint and only minimal amounts of stickers, and is overall a pretty relaxing experience. Just remember to get them a pair of decent plastic nippers if they don't already have them; all of the pieces come attached to runners.

Must Buy for New Gunpla Builders
The Revive RX-78-2 is the second kit to come out of the Revive lineup from Bandai. It's new proportions may turn off the fans of the anime or fans of the older model kits. It comes with a smaller head and a thinner stature, but it doesn't bother me so much. It also does not come with any other stickers than the ones for it's face and inner eye pieces and the red sticker for the pelvis, which is great for new builders but may seem lacking for any who want a bit more to make it look less like a plastic toy and more like a realistic military robot.Pros: It comes with a good arsenal of weapons for you pose it with and play with. The iconic beam rifle, hyper bazooka, and two beam sabers for close combat. The head construction gives you a choice of using a regular sticker, or using a clear eye piece and silver foil stickers to create depth to the eyes that can never be achieved with stickers. Articulation is exceptional for the arms and legs, but the way the polycap is placed the shoulders can move up and down but not forward and back. This allows it to be posed in such a way as to shoot the sky like in the anime, but limits a tiny bit of movement for arms if you're used to building other models. The color separation for the kit is great and only requires a little bit of grey paint to make it match it's box art and the model that is posed in its manual.Cons: It doesn't come with the Beam Javelin, which is a separate purchase through import of a magazine that includes that.Building / Fun Factor: Hands down one of my favorite to build. Loved building it so much that I went and bought a second kit for me to customize and play with. With that said, it's a simple build process that will require at most 4 hours of diligent and focused work. A little more time for panel lining and painting if you want to go the extra mile.

Excellent Model Kit for a Beginner
As someone who has just gotten into Gundam, this is was a really simple entry point into model kit building. Easy to follow instructions, overall simple build, and a great looking final result. The only downside is that some of the stickers require VERY precise placement due to their minuscule size, so I recommend using tweezers or a similar tool to help with that. Overall though, it’s a fun little kit with a great figure waiting for you to pose around at the end of the build. Highly recommended.

It’s great/screen accurate/ + great for a beginner
This kit was super simple, easy, and quick compared to other hg models I have done. It took me nearly 5 hours to assemble this guy. And the end results are great! I’d totally recommend this specific HG kit for someone who’s a beginner. My over all thoughts rating on this kit is a 9/10

Great beginner kit
Perfect kit for gunpla beginners , not a complicated build at all, can finish in one sitting. Great articulation for a cheap price.

It’s classic and great entry point
The model is easy to understand and put together in less than an hour if rushing. The only hard parts would be stickers but once you get the right tools it’ll be a piece of cake to apply them. Fun build, nice size, and overall great possibility.
