I gave these to my grand daughter for her burthday, so didn't actually receive them myself. However, as a child, I had these books and read and enjoyed them so much, that in the end they were falling apart!! The stories give children so much scope to use their imagination. My children were brought up on these and they are continuing the trend. The books are full of good old fashioned adventure with memorable characters children can readily relate to. Children will go back to these books again and again and can invent new magical lands for themselves, great fun!

I used to read these books when I was little & got the collection out of the library to read to my 5 year old when she mentioned the teacher was reading The Magic Faraway at School & how much she was enjoying it. Decided to buy the set rather than the collection as thought they would be easier to manage when my daughter is ready to have a go at reading them by herself in a year or two.The books tell the stories of the adventures of 3 children, Joe, Beth & Frannie who move to the country & discover an enchanted wood & the magic faraway tree nearby. They make friends with the magical folk who live there & visit the many strange lands that come & go at the top of the tree.My daughter really loves Moonface, Silky, Saucepan & the other characters. She couldn't wait for bed time so that she could read another chapter of two!Its a great set if books for girls and boys especially if you want something to get there imaginations going.

Brought for my son he’s reading The Enchanted Wood at school so we brought the full set so he can read it at home too. We read 2 chapters a night before bed and he really enjoys it, he’s only with me every other weekend so it does space the book out and makes it longer but it’s expanding his vocabulary and imagination really well

Bought as 'good as new' returned item and am quite happy with it.

I read these books to my kids and lived them that much my Daughter bought me a set for Christmas, I also bought a set for my friend's son to read when he gets older

Ordered these as I loved these as a kid. It has come all beautifully boxed so still haven't opened it!

My six year old son LOVES these books. He can't wait to have a couple of chapters read to him every night. I read them when I was a child and loved them just as much then as I do now. I would have preferred realistic illustrations rather than cartoon drawings but that doesn't take away from the brilliant stories. My son says that fewer pictures in the books compared to some of his other books make it more interesting because he can imagine the pictures in his head. So glad I bought these.
