Great flavor and good for you
I throughly enjoyed this coffee. Personally I didn't find it to be bitter at all, it has a nice flavor. The best part is I didn't have to forage or prepare them! Easy peezy....just order, brew and enjoy.

I suppose it's an acquired taste, but I don't plan to acquire it
I can't really knock it for being what it is, but that said this isn't really a substitute for anything. It's an acorn-based drink, period. I suppose you could call it a coffee substitute insofar as you could substitute anything that isn't coffee. Like tea, soda, or a picture of coffee taped to a glass of water. It's pretty bitter, and doesn't taste at all like coffee. With enough cream and sugar it's palatable, but the same is probably true of day-old dishwater. Again, maybe it's an acquired taste, so I can't in good conscience rate this lower than a 3 because it is in fact exactly what it advertises to be and my personal preference isn't their fault. Why did I buy it, you might ask? Mainly because acorn coffee was added to a survival game I play, and I was curious what it tasted like.

Tastes Like Christmas!
Like other reviews say, this is nothing like coffee. As long as you know that, it's not a bad drink. I decided to try it b/c it was in a survival game that I play and got curious, but I'm not disappointed. Between the cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and clove for flavor it definitely reminds me of Christmas. Acorns have many health benefits and I'll continue drinking it. It's not an exciting drink by any means since the roasted acorns don't seem to have any depth of flavor, but I'm looking forward to exploring the different ways to make it more tasty. ♥

Good but expensive
I was disappointed that the amount of coffee I would actually get for my package of this. I find that it's much too weak when made by the directions and is ground full of grounds. It's best made in a coffee maker of needs more coffee per cup there it requires on the directions. If you want to spend money and have good tasting alternative to regular coffee then spend your money but I won't be buying it again.

Fun, bizarre gift.
I purchased this for my son, who tries to stump me with weird "Wish List" requests. He was delighted when i came up with this in answer to his request this Christmas. He loved it! His wife says it tastes awful, but he says it's okay with lots of sugar and a little cream.

Needs to be cooked and steeped
Not simply "drop in your mug and good to go"Needs to be cooked the water for about 8 minutes, and then steep for another 10.Pretty mild unoffensive flavor. Definitely not a "coffee substitute", closer taste to a tea.Smells absolutely delicious though

Don’t get your hopes up
Taste exactly like Cafix. Doesn’t have much taste at all. Get Cafix for much much cheaper if your looking for a hot drink that is something different: I wouldn’t call it a coffee substitute. Why call it acorn coffee when it has nothing to do with coffee beans. That’s just to market it as a coffee sub which it’s not. Way too expensive for only 100grams but probably because it appears imported from UK.
