Filter
Didn’t like the plastic bolt, so I replaced it with a metal one! Works good and my water is smelling and tasting better. Had a gentleman put it in for me, a plumber. He didn’t like the plastic bolts either.

Works perfectly!
This filters out the heavy sediment I have. This is the first filter in a two filter system. Water is now clear in the first stage so I can filter to a 10 micron filter on the second one!

Not accurate description
The only thing I received was the Housing which I made work because I was in a pinch. There was not filter, filter wrench, or bracket that came in the package.

Wow! This thing gets horrible reviews. I installed this in August 2011 and so far no problems (knock on wood) I use the carbon filter and it has helped a lot with the dirt smell my water had and no more rust from the city pipes ruining clothes in the washer. When changing the filter I found that if you keep the pressure release pressed while unscrewing the housing it helps a lot. There is a lot of nasty stuff floating around on the dirty side of the filter so it's appearently doing something. May I suggest that if you do install any sort/brand of whole house water filter that you install shut offs to the filter with a bypass so that incase you have a problem with the filter that you can shut off water to it and bypass it so you are not without water or scrambling for a replacement.4-9-2019Still works well. Just changed the filter again and no real problems. Had a bit of a hard time getting the o ring to seal on the new filter. Ran the carbon filter longer than I should have. 26,000 gal. Should have changed it around 20,000 gal. I’ll post a pick of the thick gunk caked to it.
