They work great!
These are effective and small/thin enough they're easy to take. After taking them for about 3 months, I was sleeping better but also started sweating more in my sleep. The last 2 weeks I've started breaking them in half and taking half a tablet at bedtime, and it seems to have fixed the sweating with no compromise on sleep quality.

Seems to be helping with sleep
This time release product seems to improve my sleep. Wish they also had a 2mg or 1.5mg product since I would prefer a smaller dosage as it does create some pretty vivid dreams.

Works well, but the time it releases can vary with the individual
I'm a consistent fan of Source Naturals' products. Their peppermint-flavored (1mg) melatonin is one of the most reliable and fastest-acting sleep aids I've found. This product works well, too, but... for me, the "time release" was a fairly short time. I wake up - fairly alert, with insomnia - about four hours after taking it.So, while I can give this product four stars for how effective the melatonin is, I'll have to add "your mileage may vary" in terms of how long you'll sleep after taking it.

Product really works
This product actually works. I have used regular melatonin and it worked to get me to sleep, but did not last through the night. This timed release pill really works. My sleep is very restful all night long and I wake up refreshed. Very impressed and will continue to use it every night.

These Don't Work As Well As the Chewables, But It Could Just Be Me
About a month ago - just in passing - my doctor gave me a bottle of 1mg Melatonin chewable tabs. For my whole life, I've had periods of sleeplessness and them periods when I sleep very well. When I went to see him, it was for my routine annual physical and I have no idea why he just gave me these -- other than the fact that it's probably the only free drug he's ever gotten because he won't take "the good stuff" from drug reps!Okay. I took two (so that's 2mg) of the chewables (same manufacturer as these) which worked fairly well. When I did wake up at 4 AM, I just let another melt under my tongue, and I drifted off. I woke up as though I had had a decent night's sleep, but I certainly was not a model for a TV ad where I had awakened REFRESHED and ready for a triathalon. I felt okay and not at all lethargic. When I saw that Amazon carried the same manufacturer's Melatonin in a 2 MG TIME-RELEASE, I knew that these would be perfect. If the "chewables" worked, then time-release would be better because there would be a steady stream of Melatonin released over an 8 hour period. My logic was so good that I got two. That's 480 nights if I disregarded the warnings about continuous use.Unfortunately, the first night, they didn't work at all. I was up all night. The second night, I did fall asleep, but when I awoke, I was ... not groggy ... but not full of energy either.I stopped for two nights, and tried again, and this time I awoke are 3 AM, and just got up and read.I'd give the chewables 4 stars, but with several caveats. Melatonin is a hormone that helps with adjustments to circadian rhythms. If your rhythms are in synch with nature, don't fix what ain't broken. If you have a periodic sleepless night, take the chewables (peppermint's good) if you think that you're going to be restless. If you take these time-released pills, you're assuming that you are going to have a sleepless night, and this may become a self-fulfilling prophecy. So I'm back to the chewables a couple of times every two weeks - sometimes even when I'm exhausted from hiking or raking a continuous supply of leaves, Mother Nature's own time-released pain in the neck. The time-released just haven't released or, as I said and as silly as you may think, you may be up just waiting for them to kick in because you know that you should drift off. The only place I drift to at 2 AM is the fridge.
