Q: lots of things are ridiculously priced now on Amazon. This item is only available through a 3rd party seller. its almost $300.00 is that about right?

Hello sir, you ask a great question. The answer is partly that this item has parts made in America. More specifically the industrial grade polyurethane rubber roller is made from stainless steel which costs much more to machine and add dual set screws. Not many rubber rollers have two set screws - I'm not sure if you know that. The retail price on these rollers is very high and drives the price of this generator up. Q: Hello, would it work with the jackery explorer 550 portable power station? is any other device in between is needed? thanks

Hello there, to answer your question i can tell you that the Jackery 550 website shows the dc input range 12 to 30 volts. The specification also say that the max charging power is 100 Watts with a charge time of 9 hours. So even though you may be strong enough to put out more than 100 Watts out of this generator dynamo, the Jackery 550 will only accept 100 Watts of power from you. You would need to buy a power cable with an 8mm connector to plug into the socket on the front labeled "DC INPU" . (See the video I made for you attached to this question / answer).

Yes it will connect directly to a 12V deep cycle battery. You only need a regulator if the battery is very small like less than 20 Amp hours. However it will start free spinning like a motor when you do that. You should have a blocking diode in your wiring and a fuse. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Q: Can i charge a noco boost hd gb70 with this?

According to the owners manual I found online the GB 70 can charge at a maximum current of 3Amps Through it’s 12 V connector. So to answer your question this generator with a rubber roller can definitely provide enough power to charge the GB 70 at 3 A but you would have to have a voltage regulator to keep the voltage steady at the 12 V. I bought this "Dynamo" with the rubber drive roller and built an exercise bike generator for our schools career day.The little "Dynamo" was put to the test. It ran over two career day's and with over 1000 eighth grade students trying it out!At one point I was able to generate 90 volts DC from the little guy.
