Comfortable and cool!
I started icing due to swelling around my knees due to inflammation from arthritis. My first ice packs were very malleable and remained cold a long time but they had a single wrap-around strap that connected by a plastic buckle and that buckle always bit into the back of my knees- quite uncomfortable. So I started trying out others without plastic buckles and with double straps. But the the first two types had stiffer square gel packs that created creases when wrapped around my knees. Unlike the other knee ice packs which need to be wrapped around, these TheraICE gels pull on. I am delighted to avoid the hassle of Velcro sticking to the wrong places. Even more important, the soft gel in TheraICE is always pliable. As I mentioned I tried some others that were square pieces and even with soft skin-side material, when tightening them, sharp folds resulted and felt uncomfortable. That doesn’t happen with the TheraICE. They pull on smoothly and remain totally flexible. It’s possible they don’t remain cold as long as some others, but they rechill in just a few hours and for me, that works out well. I haven’t tried the heat option so can’t speak to that, but of 4 different ice packs I have tried, these get my highest rating.

Easy Peezy
Love this ice sleeve. We are a house full of athletes so this sleeve gets used on a weekly basis. We have four sleeves. So easy to just keep in the freezer and it’s ready to use whenever one of us needs it. The sleeve just slips on so weather your laying down or need to get up the sleeve stays on. When we’re done we just wipe it down and throw it back in the plastic sleeve and into the freezer to be used for next time.

Large is not Large Enough
I ordered the largest size to accommodate the “icing” my hamstring. It worked, but was tight. Pulling it up my thighs put a lot of stress on the seams, and some of the threads busted as a result. But, it did a great job of icing my leg. If I stress/tear my hamstring again, I’d just purchase another one – it was well worth the money for what it did for my recovery.

Amazing for your joint icing needs!!!
I bought them for my daughter & she puts it on immediately after her tennis matches & she doesn’t have to worry about propping it up or holding an ice pack on her knee or moving it around. It slips on nice & tight to get that full cold all around the knee icing. It’s not too tight but stays in place if she needs to move around. It’s helped her pain immensely & you don’t have to worry about any ice melting or getting anything wet.

Simply the BEST
Have used Thera Ice hot & cold packs for years. They freeze up quickly and when in-use they don't drip. They are made of a material similar to a mouse pad and come in a variety of shapes. There are sleeves that arms and legs slide all the way thru as well as flat ones to lay over specific body part. There are even caps for headaches .

Not as effective as real ice.
Pro: It is easy; it is convenient; it is comfortable; it is mobile; it is well made.Con: It is not ice. Not even close. The cooling effect lasts 15 minutes tops, ten minutes or less if you slide it on right after a workout when your body is heated.I've been using this on my knee and if it stayed as cold for twenty minutes as it is for the first minute, this would be a great product. But it doesn't. I can feel it warming as every subsequent minute ticks by. When I slip it off after twenty minutes, my knee feels sort of cool, but nothing like after a proper icing. My Conclusion: It is not a replacement for serious ice therapy, but it's a better-than-nothing substitute if ice isn't available, if you need to move around, or if you need a break from the ice cubes, ice bag, and Ace bandage with a good book routine. That said, I haven't yet found a freezer/gel product that mimics the therapeutic effect of real ice; so as gel products go, this is the best I've found.

Great for tendinitis
Works great for icing sore elbows and forearms from gardening. I’ve tried them for heat and they’re okay. They don’t retain heat as long as they do cold. It’s really easy to overheat them as well. I still love the product because I bought them to ice not heat. Heating was an added bonus but no necessary. If someone was primarily looking for heating, I’d choose something else.

Like the product. Concerned about TSA approval
This quickly relieves flair-ups in my right thigh and knee due to facet joint issues in my L3-L4 region. My only concern is whether or not TSA will permit me on any flights while wearing this. It is not strictly gel, but has the density found in gels that one lets cool in a freezer. Would like to know if it'S TSA approved.
