Mopar Genuine Truck Bed Extender

Bought this for the new 2019-2020 design of the Ram 1500 not the classic. Official product and was cheaper via Amazon. It's a well-built bed-extender that doubles as a divider. Installation does require you to drill a total of 6 holes into your truck (3 on each side). The template made it easy to measure every thing, but don't recommend if you're uncomfortable drilling holes in the bed. I love it and if you need to remove it, it's easy to do so.

It is very hard to drive the screws into the truck bed. The Phillips head screws strip out very quickly. I had to go to ACE hardware and buy an 8MM socket in order to get these screws in tight. There have plastic around the bottom of the screws as well. Not sure if this serves a purpose or is just there to protect the screw threads.

You need to set aside some install time and follow the instructions exactly and you'll need a rivet gun, but it's very solid and durable once installed. I haul gas cans frequently and its nice to have them secure between the bed extender and the tailgate so they're not sliding all around the bed. Its a great MOPAR product!

I have a 2022 rebel, it is hard to find accessories that fit. This fits and looks awesome!

3rd Ram I have had with the MOPAR extender, 5th truck overall with bed extender, this one is not just the worst, it is by far the flimsiest, worst engineered piece of truck equipment I have seen. Let's start with assembly, instructions are not great, but they omit the fact you need a rivet tool to fully assemble. I happened to have one, but not sure how many people have a rivet tool in their garage. Once I had it assembled it began to truly dawn how poor this is. The tubes will flex as you handle them, it will bend easily. I would not trust it with any load against it, which is very much the point of these.After install, in the first few hundred miles I saw that one rivet was sheared. The vibration int he bed against the thin wall aluminum ate thru the rivet head.The strap system works with the tailgate fasterners, or at least it is supposed to, but getting these to seat in the tailgate fastener is finger pinching nightmare. I am seriously disappointed and cannot believe MOPAR release this half baked product.

Would not recommend this seller box was all torn up and product looks like was returned and repacked and was scratched up and loose in the box

Make sure you have power drill!! Easy installation!!
