Nice features and easy to use!
This thing is so tiny and lightweight, easy to carry and store! The Documate software is easy to find online and download from the website (installed in about 10 minutes). The camera plugs into my laptop's USB port; I open Documate and I'm good to go!Features I like: Documate includes a nice whiteboard feature, as well as the ability to get a crisp image with the auto-focus (AF button on the actual device, or as a control in the software). The image can be reversed left-to-right, and/or upside down. I use the device for tutoring with Zoom (aiming the camera at a physical piece of paper on my tabletop usually), and I have also used it standing upright and aimed at my face, for video chatting with students or friends - the image flipping is useful then, else I'd be upside down! It has a better image than my laptop camera, and sometimes a more reliable microphone. There are basic tools like a marker so you can write on the image whether it's in white board or camera mode - I once wrote "Guten Morgen!" to float in the air next to my image with the camera, when chatting with my friend in Austria. It would be great for language learning with kids, I think - you could show yourself in an ordinary room in your house, and label chair, table, shelf, etc. on the screen while you talk.I've only had 3 issues since purchasing this in November 2020, and the problems may not be with this device at all:(1) when I used with my older laptop, that machine would crash after 15 minutes, but it was having that problem with anything video related;(2) the LED bulb didn't work at my last tutoring session, though it worked before. But the camera picked up the natural light in the room better than my own eyes did! I found it easier to write by watching the screen, than watching my own writing directly.(3) I tried to use the camera mic in my last Zoom session and I could not hear my student, so it was like it was expecting me to have a microphone headset combo .... but that could have been a Zoom issue or a problem with the student's computer.Overall, this has been one of my best purchases of the year. I'm a currently unemployed and low-tech teacher, trying to figure out how to earn money from home during Covid. This has helped so much!

IWorkign great for years both from Windows and linux
I have used it for many years now and it still works great. The only complaint I might have is that the camera does not remember setting it in upside-down mode. I use the upside-down mode as I use this camera interchangeably both as a document Camera and as a high-quality camera for Zoom meetings. If I have two meetings in a row or need to disconnect the streaming for a moment I have to press a combination of buttons to switch to the upside-down mode again. Not a big deal. I'm happy with the camera and strongly recommend it to others. The built-in microphone is also good quality.

Great product and best customer service ever!
Seller and customer service response are amazing. The day I received the camera I was having problems getting the camera to work with Teams on my laptop. I sent a query through the company's support and in less on 24 hours received a reply that made everything perfect. Can't get any better than that!I had these 2 problems:1. I just got the camera today. I use Teams to tutor online. However, when I am running Documate and Teams together I get the following message from Teams. "We couldn't start video. Your computer's pretty busy. Close some apps and then try again." I have no other apps open.2. If I turn off Documate, the INS-1 camera takes over on Teams but the images are inverted. Also, support not only caught my email typing error but took the time to figure out how to correct it and resend.I went to bed last night with a stress headache from the day and with frustration about the camera and my computer. Then I woke up to a very thoughtful email and everything worked right away. Now I'm looking forward to my next tutoring session.

Works great; my wife uses this to teach 1st grade
For teachers looking for an online teaching solution, this is the product you need. The image works great, the stand is solid and the camera does it's job without you noticing it. That is perfect in technology. The only thing that hit us was we could not load the downloadable included software. Her school district has her computer locked down and administrative privileges are required. That's typically for security and our workaround was simple. We used the built in Windows 10 camera software and then shared the screen/windows. That worked much better trying to use it as a webcam directly to show documents. If you use this as a webcam Google Meet limits the resolution; googles default is 360p!. Even bumping it up you can only get to 720p. But if share the camera windows, everything is nice, crisp and high resolution. We don't use the included light much. It works fine but for our lighting, we didn't need it. It was also a little strange in that the light won't work until the USB drivers finish installing. Must be software controlled on some level. In any case, give it a few seconds after plugging it in and then the light button works fine.My favorite feature is that you can hold two buttons at once on the top and flip the video vertically. That means when she is done teaching we can flip the camera up 90 degrees, press those buttons and presto you have a mounted webcam with a really good image. Not expecting to teach online or being overly versed with technology, my wife tells me this device saved her for this semester. Highly recommended.
