A great book full of helpful ways to integrate yoga, breath work, and yoga nidra into psychotherapy
As a holistic psychotherapist and yogi, I was thrilled to read this wonderful compendium of techniques to enhance your therapy practice with yoga, breath work, meditation, and yoga nidra.Ms. Weintraub has a direct and engaging writing style which allows her to share her encyclopedic knowledge in an easy to assimilate way.If you have wondered how to introduce and incorporate these therapeutic modalities that have been around for millennia here's the one book to get you started and keep you on the path.

Supremely Healing
Amy has expertly provided guidance for both the client and the therapist to walk the healing journey together. What better way to connect with mental health recovery than with your breath? I really like that Amy includes research, case examples, and imagery as landmarks to understanding the power of yoga. This is a terrific book that I plan to refer to for years to come. R. Williams, coauthor of The Gift of Recovery: 52 Mindful Ways to Live Joyfully Beyond Addiction.

Great, Concrete Ideas for Therapists and Teachers
I am a yoga teacher and recently began teaching a class for students with depression and/or anxiety. I originally started to read Weintraub's "Yoga for Depression," which is aimed more at individuals who are seeking out help, but found it a little bit too theoretical for my taste. As soon as I started reading "Yoga Skills for Therapists," I knew I'd found the right text: it gives great scientific research and philosophical foundations of such practices as pranayama, sound, and mudra, while also giving tons of concrete exercises you can plan into your yoga class (or therapy session). She also distinguishes between what practices are best for what condition, and gives advice on how to build trust and a solid foundation with your students/clients using said practices.I would highly recommend this book to anyone who works with depressed and/or anxious clients and is looking for practical skills to use and the reasons to use them. It's also taken my own personal yoga practice to a deeper place, which I think helps me connect more with my students.

a wonderful tool. Even though I am not a clinician, I found the tools in this book to be very applicable to any environment including my own home yoga practice and techniques to use in an office environment.
