You do have to rinse it out. It's much too thick to leave in. If you used the search feature and type in 'leave in conditioner', I'm sure you'll find something.

I use The Elvive Shampoo and conditioners and follow the directions on the back. It helps to extend the life of my color. The conditioners smooths and corrects my very damaged ends. I love how well it works. Good luck.
