Programmable keypad is absolutely awesome! Easy programming, save to file, upload to keypad, plug and play.
I can't begin to tell you what kind of amazing time saver this programmable keypad is for a web developer that types the same element tags over and over (like p and <div>, etc>.) Now I have a single key programmed to give me a full tag or part of a tag or any combination with one keystroke. This product makes me giddy and I can't remember the last time a tech product made me giddy.Installation could not be any easier. Literally it's plug and play. Simply install the included software to program the keys which is simple in operation and does a great job. The software allows you to save the keys to a file which you can update or change anytime. Changing a key's programming is as easy as updating the key in the software and downloading it to the keypad, which takes about 10-15 seconds depending on how many keys you've programmed. You can easily program a large number of keystrokes in succession including special keys on your keyboard easily and then save them to a key on the keypad and it simply works without hassle. Super time saver for web developers as I"m sure for gamers and other typing intensive jobs. The keys are top notch mechanical and the box is sturdy. This is a great product. FYI, I plugged this into a Windows 10 Pro machine and it instantly worked.Comes with a few extra keys, a key-label template so you can print or make your own key labels and a key puller to make pulling the key caps off very easy. One last thing I will mention. The shipping speed from Amazon is in the 'unbelievable' range these days. I ordered on Wednesday afternoon and had it Thursday afternoon. How? I have no idea. Thanks Amazon. Amazing job.

Easy to Program and Does Not Require Software Driver
This is a programmable keyboard for computers. You can program each key to do what you want within reason. While you need a special application to program, the control panel works like a keyboard without special drivers installed once it is programmed. Unplug from computer and plug it into any other computer and it keeps its programming. No software needed after programming. This was critical for my purposes. For security reasons, we can’t install special drivers typical of most control panels or macro keyboards. They keyboard fells like an old mechanical keyboard however the keys are flat not curved for fingers. This allows labels to be placed under the key caps. The keyboard was easy to program. It took just a few minutes. It can imitate a standard keyboard or a multimedia keyboard with a mouse. The computer just sees it as a standard human interface. Yes It can simulate a mouse but only in the sense you can make it click and move the cursor like a mouse. However since there is no driver there is no intelligence such as click the ok button. Just click right or left mouse button and scroll x points up or down. This is perfectly fine for me.Macros are limited to 200 bytes per key. Special functions like mute, open Windows or flash LED are available. Time delays are also available. Some functions take two or more bytes. Macros can be set to repeat if key is held down. Manual is comprehensive and readable. It was written in English for English. It was not translated. It describes advance use like assigning an application to a key.Read carefully on how shift, alt and control keys are programmed into a macro. You get unexpected results if use these and then you don’t undo theses keys in your macro. They are logically kept pressed until you tell the macro to release the keys.Comes with Word and Excel label templates. Tip: it is easier to put the label in the cap cover and then push the key into the cover rather than laying the label on the key and trying to place the cap on the key. The label won’t slide off.Comes with extra keys and key puller. Two features I wished the controller had. 1) allow one key macro to call another key so as to chain macros together. 2) Sine the controller is programmed through the application, I would like to define the device’s name myself. Computer sees the keyboard named as “congrolpadbm24cp”. In my world, changing the name to something meaningful would make reporting easier. Neither feature is a show stopper.I very much like this keyboard. I really only needed 8 keys so I programmed there other keys to work like a numeric keypad.

This has made my job much easier and I highly recommend purchasing this if you often have to type the same thing over and over again, such as data entry from a limited set. The software is easy to use and works well, my cd didn't have the label templates for some reason but it just took a quick phone call and they emailed them to me right away! The only thing to note is that it is incredibly fast and you may have to insert delays in the code if you are going from one entry box to another. For example, I have it set to fill in 5 characters, tab to the next box, another character, tab to skip three boxes that are empty for my application, then enter 2 characters in 4 different boxes, dependent on the specific entry required. Every so often it would jumble one or two characters, I assume because of the different boxes or the age of my computer. It was easy to add short delays (48 ms, not noticeable in entering the data) but those do take up a character spot, so if you had something absurd to enter, it could potentially run into issues, but it seems doubtful. This has been an amazing example of something that I thought would be great and it far and away exceeded my expectations and can't imagine not having it for my job now. If something happens to this one or we find another use for it we would 100% purchase another one. Solidly built and easy to make custom key labels for. What are you waiting for? Go get one and make your life easier!

Not terrible but not beginner friendly.
If this is the first time trying macros, get another one. I saw a YT video and thought this could help me at work but its a pain to program. The keys have a clear removable top to customize the look of all the buttons but I never bothered doing that. I'd recommend getting an easier to program macro keypad.
