Great primer
This book covers the basics really well, I think. I haven't used any of his tips yet, but he provides valuable links, tips for tracking software, loggers, antennas and tips for compensating for doppler shift as the sat passes. Good investment for the beginner (like me) who wants to commo via satellites and the ISS.73

Great for getting started
I teach Ham radio license courses and try to incorporate information not covered in the manual. This book has given me some good information to pass on to my students, including recommending this book to them.

Just What I Needed
A short book, physically small enough to keep with you when you're chasing amateur radio satellites. The extra tips of location, frequencies and software made the book a great buy for me.

The Absolute Bare Basics of AMSAT
More of a glorified pamphlet, this "book" is an introductory to some basic materials on AMSAT and a primer for your first CQ. My recommendation is to save your money and spend it on a more comprehensive tome like AMSAT and HAMSATs by Barron.

Excellent book for beginning HAM operator
I highly recommend Brian Schell's "For Beginners" books for the new HAM operator. They are straight forward and answers many questions for non-techie operators!
