Finally a solution to my clenching!
I've only been wearing this for 3 days. I've been a clencher for about 7 years now, and it was pretty easily managed with another brand mouth guard up until I had an accident a year and a half ago. Since then, it seems like my clenching got worse or my muscles were different...I don't know, but it caused me near daily headaches and jaw pain. lately, it's been so bad that I use a heat pad daily (multiple times), and was constantly massaging the side of my jaw that I clench on, stretching my jaw, and trying my hardest to lie down with my jaw shifted to the other side to relieve the pain. Nothing worked. I'd reset any food I did whenever I slept because I'd go right back to clenching. It sucked. An ent (for another unrelated problem) suggested I get an "anti snore" mouthguard, even though I don't snore. He said it would set my lower jaw forward so I couldn't clench...but I wasn't okay with the price, and didn't like the idea of having such a huge contraption in my mouth to sleep, so I started googling. Found this and got it 100% because of the amazing reviews. Day 1, I woke up and didn't need to massage my jaw just so my bite would fit together. Pain returned late at night once I started to get tired. For half the day though, my jaw felt tight, but more normal than it had in awhile. Day two, same thing, but the headache seemed more manageable. I'm now at the end of day 3, and have gone the whole day without feeling the need to massage my jaw or "set" it back into place (I have some BIG strong knots from years of intense clenching). I feel like those knots are starting to give. I am really optimistic this will be a great long term solution...if I'm feeling this much better after 3 days, I can't wait to see what 3 weeks, months, years are like! This is GREAT for clenchers (I don't grind), and I could see it working well for grinders too because it comfortably holds your back teeth apart, just a little bit. Fits snugly, molding is easy, and hasn't shifted my teeth out of place. WAY better than mouth guards that sit between your back upper and lower teeth because it PREVENTS the ability to grind or clench. 5 stars!!

Too bulky
The concept of this night guard is good it only covers a few front teeth so back teeth won't clench. HOWEVER, the bulkiness of the device is a total miss. The part that covers front teeth is fine but the part that presses against the back of teeth up to roof of mouth is entirely too thick. It's more like a sports guard made not to sleep in. It so thick it forces your mouth open and mouth breathing is the opposite of what you want. If they slimmed this device down and made different mouth size options available it might work. I had an NTI which I lost so wanted this to tide me over until I could get a new one but unfortunately it didn't work for me at all.

This is helping my girlfriend's TMJD
Review from my girlfriend:I've been struggling with TMJD for at least 10 years. I got this night guard a week ago and it has already been helping so much! When I wake I feel more rested, my face feels relaxed and I have only a very dull clicking on one side as opposed to feeling tension, limited mobility, and rough clicking on both sides. As the day progresses and I continue to eat as normal, my jaw does become stiffer/tighter, clicks more and becomes less mobile, but not as bad as before. I am happy that at least for the night while I sleep, I am not clenching/grinding my jaw down to dust. I feel the next step is to avoid eating hard/crunchy things. The only negative is that my bottom front teeth are a little sore in the morning and I wonder if they may shift in some way, but I would trade those small issues for the huge jaw improvements I am currently experiencing. I am excited for things to keep improving. It was easy to mold, I re-molded it a second time for a better fit. It is uncomfortable to wear the first 2 or 3 nights, but you get used to it and they conform to your mouth perfectly after a few nights. I have a small mouth and this worked for me.

Gave it a chance and it worked!
UPDATED REVIEW, November 2014:I originally gave this product 2 stars and found it difficult to work with. The company sent me a replacement guard, which unfortunately got misplaced, so I wasn't able to use it until I found it again (hence the late updated review).I followed the directions and again, found that it didn't fit "snug", so I reheated the guard and tried it once more. Same results. It fit, but it didn't have a moulded, gelled seal that I was looking for.I decided to sleep in the guard anyway and had some surprising results.1. Both my guard and my teeth were completely dry before wearing the guard. When you're originally fitting the guard, you probably don't wipe your teeth, and the guard is wet with water. This makes a HUGE difference in getting a snug fit.2. Throughout the night, the guard actually moulded MORE to my teeth, and created a tight suction. In the morning, I had to pull gently in order to break the suction. It was a bit difficult the first two nights wearing the guard, because you are trying to sleep with something foreign in your mouth. But by the third night, I was able to sleep soundly without waking up, and for the first time in years, my jaw and headache pain associated with nighttime jaw clenching began to cease. By the end of the first week, all symptoms were gone completely.I've been wearing this guard now for well over a month, and cannot recommend it more. I'm very grateful that the company sent me a replacement guard, and that I put aside concerns of getting an absolute perfect fit, and just allowed it to do its thing. It has completely cured all of my symptoms and I don't even notice it anymore.I know some people keep their guards in water, but I choose not to. I rinse my guard thoroughly every morning, and I place it on a clean paper towel, uncovered. At night before I got to bed and after I've brushed my teeth, I rub my front teeth with a napkin or towel (or when I'm really lazy and tired, my clean pajama top), and I insert the guard. The less moisture on both, the better the fit and tighter the suction.Learn from my mistakes--repeatedly dipping the guard in hot water attempting to get a tighter fit WILL destroy it and make it unusable. Just concentrate on getting a *good* fit and reheat it no more than two or three times. Even if it doesn't feel snug enough, it will be. Give yourself a few days to get used to sleeping with it, and you will see a huge difference in your symptoms.OLD REVIEW, JULY 2014:I was enthused by the product and really wanted it to work out, but it didn't. I followed all of the directions and the first two times, could not get the guard to fit snugly over my teeth. The third time, I finally managed to smooth it across my gums, but unfortunately, it stretched too thin and the result was a huge hole on the front, which irritated my gums when left in. I tried to re-mold and cover the hole, but it never came back together.I emailed the company three days ago, and no response.$40 is a lot to spend on a product that is this difficult to get right, and you run the risk of ruining it during the boiling process before you even wear it. Hopefully Amazon will let me return it, if not, then this is the biggest waste of money ever.
