Dewalt Lighted Technician's Tool Bag

When I decided to start buying my handtools back when I was a teen, I chose to use Craftsman, as they were the best at the time. Fast forward to adulthood, when I chose to buy my Power tools, I also opted to buy the best and opted for DeWalt, as I believe they are top notch. So when it was time for me to buy a tool bag, it was a decision that turned out to be harder then I had imagined. Who would have guessed there would be so many different choices out there, but I'm glad there are, since it is a very specific market. The reason I chose the DeWalt DGL573, was because this was my first tool bag and I wanted to get the most and best I could for my dollar, but I also wanted a tool bag that would hold all of the tools I feel I need to carry. Well the DeWalt DGL573, checks off all of my check boxes and some. I didn't know how much I would need the LED light, but it turns out that is more valuable than I had imagined! Not only does it do well in lighting the center section of the tool bag, but I had to do some work under my sink and that light earned all sorts of great comments and remarks for the other guys who were assisting me. They did not know that a light could be built into a tool bag, and too be honest, either did I until I came across the DeWalt line. The only other tool bag I even considered was the DeWalt DGL523, if not for the price tag, I probably would have given it more consideration, but for me, the DeWalt DGL573 was the tool bag that was meant for me. Thanks Amazon for not only carrying the DeWalt DGL573 , but at a price that just could not be beat. Add on that PRIME free 2 day shipping and WOW, I do love a great deal.So if you are a tool guy at home, or a small to medium contractor, the DeWalt DGL573 will serve you just right, IMO. The DeWalt DGL573 is also one tough bag and it always stands upright due to the way the bottom of the tool bag is constructed. This is one Tough, Durable tool bag that should serve you well and last a very long time to boot, heck it is a DeWalt after all and that means Tough!!

I was a little skeptic about this bag at first. Any bag that has a light gizmo built into it is probably just another feature you don't need.However I came from a handyman bag that didn't close up like this one. Everything ended up in one big dumping pile in the middle. This bag has zipper sections for all your small tools. Big outside pockets on the other side for some other items. And a big center section That can easily fit a few batteries a drill an oscillating tool hammer. Etc. And that can be zipped up too. My old bag used to fall over while driving sometimes. Tools everywhere. Ugh. This bag I don't have to worry about that.Now back to the light. I actually find this very useful. The light shines down at your tools. This is nice when you're in low light areas. And it can also shine inside the bag. Perfect for something falls to the bottom you trying to find it.I end up buying the 18-in Dewalt contractor bag as well to carry my bigger tools, extension cord etc. The combination of these two bags is awesome. I know there are larger bags that allow you to carry everything but eventually your bag will get really heavy. The two big system is about the right size and weight for carrying all my smaller power tools and hand tools. I still have a box for all my fasteners and other miscellaneous stuff. again trying to put all of this in one bag would be a weight nightmare.The only fix or downside of the bag was I had to sew the carrying handle so that it didn't flop down in front of my tools. That took me about 3 minutes to do. Otherwise this bag is great.I looked at about 15 other bags in stores and ordered them from Amazon. There were a few others that were decent, but I kept coming back to my two DeWalt bags.

I'm not sure who was more excited when UPS dropped off the Amazon box earlier this week - my wife or I.I do various odd jobs and repairs around my house and volunteer in theatre set construction. As I gain wisdom (age) my eyesight isn't quite what it used to be. I liked the idea of an LED light equipped bag to help me better organize my tools for various uses AND to help me to both see what is lurking at the bottom of the bag and looming around me in the dark caverns of my basement and the theatre.My wife, on the other hand, was just happy to see me organizing my tools so that I could most easily grab the bag with the right repair tools for the ever present "Honey Do" list.I loaded up the bag with two new AAA batteries and my most commonly used home repair tools and supplies. The size, shape and number of organizational possibilities that this tool bag has is terrific - easy to get to the side pocket which zips fully open, revealing 24 different spots to organize everything from pens and pencils to screwdrivers, knives, stud finders,... you get the picture.The outside of this side pocket has an additional 3 storage pockets, one zippered, plus a place to hang a tool with a carabiner. The other side has four larger pockets and the ends have further organization / storage opportunities, including a perfect spot for my tape measure to always be easily accessible.The inside of the bag (easily viewable from the LED light has 6 additional side pockets for storage, and allows for plenty of room for my drills, bits, impact drivers, trusty cordless saw and other such tools.I'm thoroughly DELIGHTED with the functionality of the bag, the ability to store what I need so efficiently and the ability to SEE both inside and throughout the room courtesy of the pivoting LED light system with three different brightness levels. Oh - once you get this, make sure to reach into the interior pockets - they include the two AAA batteries!You can't go wrong with this purchase.
