Speeds up the project
This cutter was just the tool I needed to install Pergo (laminate) in my house. Just finished doing 1400 sq. ft. and very pleased with the tool's performance. Really speeded up the project with not having to run out to the table saw for every cut. Other reviews complained of the guide bar. I just fastened it down to the deck with one drywall screw and it worked fine. Note the tool makes decent cuts and be aware that the lever needs a good tug. The cut edges are good enough for along walls where the baseboard trim will cover (see pic). I still go to my table saw for ripping lengthwise and other fine cuts. Tool comes with cute little sharpening stone that works well. Just work the blade once a day with the fine side of the stone and the cutter stays sharp enough. Did not try this tool on LVF but my guess is that is would do well with the softer material.

Pretty good machine
It took two tries to get a serviceable unit. First unit was an Amazon return that should never have been re-sold, as it had manufacturing defects that rendered it unusable. Questionable QC at EAB and Amazon warehouse. (Actually, first purchaser should have notified Amazon of the problem, and not simply returned the unit. Warehouse would have no way of knowing without trying to assemble and use the unit.)Second unit (new) went together well and worked properly. Not really as easy to use as I had hoped, but it did the job. Took some strength to cut 3/8" engineered bamboo. A little awkward to hold down board while pushing down handle, but it works. Most cuts nice and clean. Push the handle down like you mean it.As other reviewers have said, angle guide is useless. I permanently fastened it for 90 degree cuts.If you need to not make noise or a mess, or it is too time consuming and inconvenient to walk outside to your chop box, this unit will make you happy.

May work well with other laminates
I had very high hopes and was excited to receive the cutter on time.PROS:- relatively easy to assemble- cleanly cuts most laminates you can find at the big box stores. I tried a variety of 12mm laminate samples (Pergo, Allen + Roth, TrafficMaster, etc.)CONS:- the locking mechanism is not well aligned, though only a minor issue for me because it still locks- if you are considering to use this to cut the Floor and Decor AquaGuard Water-Resistant Laminate, similar to mine SKU: 100489814, then this won't be able to cut cleanly. I find that the laminate core is too tough for the blade to handle.Since I have tested this with any other laminates and found it to cut those cleanly, I am still giving it the high rating and will recommend it to anybody to give it a try. Customer Service is also excellent, and quick to respond.I'm forced to use the SKIL Flooring Saw, even though I'd rather not use any saw for cutting if I can avoid because I'm allergic to dust. I'll have a separate review on the SKIL 3601-02.

Well built, easy to adjust, easy to sharpen, easy to assemble
There is not much to say about this laminate floor cutter. It is a brute, cuts cleanly (keep the blade sharp!) and accurately. It has a very smooth, gliding, and positive feel to it. This cutter has reduced my floor install time by at least 20-25% since there is little up/down off the floor to make cuts and essentially no cleanup. The only thing that would push this unit over the top with me is putting a storage system underneath the hollow. With a slight redesign of the tapping block, all accessories, including the hex wrenches, could be stored with the cutter keeping everything in its place and so you don’t have to hunt for all of it since you’re going to use most of it anyway in an installation. I’m in the process of designing my own. Take note manufacturer. This would be an attractive added bonus.

Good efficient cutter so far
Halfway through my laminate flooring installation of two rooms (about 900 sq ft), I came to know this type of cutters. I'd installed about 2500 sq ft of Pergo laminate flooring more than 15 years ago. Then after that had not paid too much attention to the new laminate installation techniques and tools. After getting this tool, my install went a lot faster. The cutter saved me many trips going up and down the stairs and to the garage to make cuts. Even though the cuts themselves are not as clean and smooth as done by miter saws, but then my garage is a lot cleaner. I didn't have to use a mask to cover my nose. And I had put the cutter right in the install room. The whole install would've been a lot quicker if I've had it at the beginning. My laminate flooring was 12mm thick plus a 3mm pad layer, altogether 15mm thick (Selected Surface Driftwood). I did have to use some force with one hand to make the cut, and it wasn't too hard. Don't know how long the tool will last. So far so good.

It did not work. Sent back.
It seems like whatever they use to drill/tap the holes for the installation needs recalibrated because this until could not even go together. It’s frustrating because I ended up having to drive back to the flooring store to purchase one when I was there the day before. I figured I would save a little money on this one, but ended up paying the cost anyhow, plus driving an extra 1-1/2 hours. Companies seem to have removed the QA process.

Awesome tool for cutting 12mm engineered wood floor
My current project has me installing the entire 2nd story of my house with 12mm engineered wood flooring so I purchase the 13" cutter. I have installed floors elsewhere in the house and always hated going outside to the chop saw to cut boards. I can now have this tool in the room where I am working, saving time, and avoiding stairs, saw noise, the resulting dust, and quickly wearing out expense 12" blades. I do find that despite the cutting guide, I have to pay more attention to getting a true 90-degree cut, as well as the correct cut line for those cuts where length is really important. This tool is truly a lifesaver.

Works great….but.
Quality control at the company is not very good. I had to redrill holes to line things up so it could be assembled. The fence/angle part refused to stay tight so I screwed it in place at 90 degrees. But aside from assembly, it works well and I have used it to install over 800 sf of flooring with out any issues.
