I bought this for a room in the basement. I have two gigantic speakers that require a low wattage amplifier. My other amp is older than dirt and has a channel out. It needed replaced but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I'm cheap, so I took a chance on this product.For the price, the PTAU23 is great. It is simple, yet functions very well. The unit has treble and base controls, a USB port, volume controls and input jacks.If you need an amp and don't want to spend tons of money or don't need an amp to blow your socks off, I would recommend the PTAU23. It works perfectly.

i love these small amps do not take much space and can fit them in small areas and they have nice power to fill a nice size room or better with descent speakers i have one i got for my tv and game systems as well as music i use headphones more with that one witch is the PTA22BT unit the new one here PTAU23 i use with my music speaker system and cd and mp3 as well as cards and they both sound great its nice to have such a small unit that packs quite a bit of sound and punch love them both great clear sound if you hook it up all good

This is decent little amp for the price. More on sound quality in a moment, but it is well-built, has great functionality and controls and makes a terrific little desktop or auxiliary amp. Very flexible: it is very small and will fit anywhere, and it has tone and balance controls and takes five different inputs: three traditional line-level AUX/CD inputs, one USB input with play controls for accessing and play/pausing sound files directly off a memory stick, and a Microphone input with a dedicated MIC volume. Really an incredibly flexible product for an incredible price. A great little amp for those small jobs like an iPod based poolside system, desktop system for computer sound, or lightweight PA or music mixing or even Karaoke duties I suppose. It also has some very nice punch for a 40W x 2 stereo amp - more than enough for small rooms. I'm tempted to give it five stars except for one thing: this is not an audiophile amp. For this price it is not supposed to be, but if you are really picky about sound and plan to listen to it through speakers which have good resolution and transparency, you will find the sound a little bit sub-par. I'm using it with a nice pair of Monitor Audio speakers, and, while it is not bad, the high end is a little honky and nasal-sounding and there is some mid bass emphasis. It's not terrible - most people wouldn't notice or care (again, especially for this price), but it is definitely not a sparkling clear and transparent amp we are talking about here. For example, I got it to replace a 25 year old NAD 7225 receiver relegated to desktop duty whose power supply finally quit on me, and there is a definitely perceptible difference in sound quality. True this Pyle is new and hasn't had a chance to really warm up and break in, and NADs are famous for the quality of their sound, so this is not surprising, but I mention it as a heads up to people who care a lot about sound and have sharp ears. Otherwise, great product.

I had an old RCA SA-155 stereo amp that up and died, after a search for comparable small multiple input amps I came up with this as a reasonably priced replacement for my small system. So far I am pleased with its performance. I am powering Audix MM-55 studio monitors- heavy little speakers that can take 100 watts, and this amp definitely offers more oomph than the RCA ever could.I have used it with my Sony DVP-SR200P CD/DVD player, MacBook Pro, and with a tiny preamp in line a Pioneer PL-600 turntable.I opted for this model, for a few extra bucks because of the USB input- having previously planned on dedicating a USB flash drive to a music collection. haven't tried that port yet. not sure how practical the scan capability will be. we'll see. one minor flaw, a rubber foot is missing, appears to be glued on (a screw would have been better) I contacted the company to see if they can remedy this, but suspect a scrap piece of cork or rubber will have to do. less than ideal, but in no way compromises the functionality of this tiny powerhouse.

First unit I ordered had a difference of about 6dB volume between the Left and Right channels. Pyle support didn't seem to believe at first I knew what I was talking about.Replacement unit played fine up until this month (February 2024).Powered the unit on selected FM tuner, I heard music audio being pulsed approximately three times and then the unit fell silent. Powered on but no sound heard.Removed cover, checked connections etc. Re-assembled. Powered it on, there was a slight hum which diminished. Selected FM and it now played again. A couple days later, hum increased when powered on but diminished after a few minutes. Crackling noises from right channel, but now it is completely dead/silent. Only the Left channel plays.I only paid $53.70 for this unit, but I guess you get what you pay for.I ordered the same make/model as a replacement. I am returning this third unit as I realize it would probably only fail in a short period of time too.Time to consider something much higher quality like the Denon RCD-N10 or slightly better.
