I was a bit hesitant about buying this product because the reviews were not all that inspiring. I used it to upgrade me westfield strat and i must say I'm very impressed. I own two other electric guitars and I think my westfield is now my favorite sounding guitar.

This is such a beautiful bit of kit. Neatly wired, crisply finished, and packed carefully.Upgraded with some alloy knobs, looks amazing.Superb

Bought the fella as I wanted something to fit on this cheap guitar I made. You get what you pay for and to be honest this was cheap and nasty.... but I kind of knew that with the price.It works and the pick guard is nice but the pickups sound awful.... however it’s what I expected.

After reading all the positive reviews on the preloaded Musiclily pickguards I thought I'd give one a go on a project I was working on. Right out the packet first impressions weren't great - the pole pieces are tiny! The switch felt beyond cheap and the lever bends really easily.I thought I'd give it a go though as it could still sound ok. Here is where the main issues started. I installed a coil split switch having checked with Musiclily that the humbucker was indeed splitable. I fitted the pickguard and strung the guitar up. To be fair the single coils aren't terrible but I cna't say they were much of an upgrade over the stock ceramics. The humbucker however was awful, just plain junk. It was so badly microphonic that coil splitting did virtually nothing. Turn your amp up or get close to it and you will regret it.Maybe I got a bad one, given how cheap it was I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of returning it, especially given the fact they wouldn't answer my question as to whether it was wax potted or not.Honestly, there are far better pickups to be had for around the £50 mark, Pribora's being some of them, spend another £20 or so on CTS pots and an Oak or CRL switch and you will have something that sounds easily as good as an American Standard Fender. I guarantee you will have a mate who can solder and the wiring diagrams for strats are easily available on the web.Buy cheap, buy twice!

Wanted to mod my SSS stratocaster to HSS. Chose the black loaded pickup guard by Musiclily after reading reviews. Here is my review:Product packaging is adequate. Could've been better but the cardboard box and bubble wrap was adequate. Pickup guard itself is quite sturdy and not made of plastic. Another good thing is that the inside of the pickup-guard has some sort of shielding tape which should help in noise reduction. One of the items I do think should be part of package is diagram of where to connect the wires in guitar.Took installation instructions from Fender Youtube video on how to install a loaded pickup-guard and it was very helpful. Basically, need to de-solder previous connections and solder 3 wires (2 grounding wires - black) and one hot wire to the input jack. Took me sometime to de-solder & Solder because it was my first time.One con that I found out was that the screws attaching pickup-guard with body did not align with previous holes. So had to make new holes in the body. Didn't use drill for this purpose, just forcefully screwed in the screws which made their own grooves in the wood. The older screw holes were hidden under old pickup guard.After installing new strings, checked every pickup in clean and distortion setting on amp. They are almost noiseless, maybe a faint noise (could be my amp) but as soon as you touch the strings, all noise disappears (your body starts to ground the instrument even better).Excellent product, highly recommended.

This is the first "budget knockoff" pickguard that fits! ALL ELEVEN SCREWS matched the standard Fender/Squier hole positions - I didn't have to move ANY factory holes. They all matched - I have it on a standard MIC Squier SE Strat.I did have to shape the neck heel area, as it hung over too far to put the neck on. This was no big deal, and took a minute with a Dremel.Pots are small import size, but work very smoothly, and are silent. Bottom tone is on the middle pickup like stock Strat wiring, and I will move it to the bridge. Switch is the PCB import style, but is quiet and works well so far.Pickups are decent, with the high point being the bridge humbucker, which is nice and fat. The single coils do the Strat thing and are good, but are nothing super special and won't be confused for brand name aftermarket or USA Fender pickups...but for the price? Great!

Fit great. Easy to install. Works well. Sounds really good for the price. Better than many expensive pickups out there.People complaining about low output probably didn't adjust the height of the pickups. 😂 They have plenty of output.

El articulo se ve bien montado y la verdad para mi suena bien y cumple perfectamente con su proposito,La verdad es que para el que no pueda permitirse el lujo de un kit electronico de primera marca o famosa esta bien.

Excelente para la reparación o reemplazo de una guitarra como las Squier. El sonido es muy bueno y en comparación con el precio es mejor. Obviamente no hay que esperar demasiado de algo barato pero me sorprendió el resultado. La use para una squier strat y aunque los orificios del pickguard no se ajustaban bien apretando fuerte y con presión quedó de maravilla.

Comprato come sostituzione per una stratocaster economica, i fori non erano allineati e ho dovuto limare un po' la parte a contatto con il fondo del manico.I pickup sembrano di buona qualità, l'humbucker ha un buon output
