Love this tool
Gets into places that grinders can't. Great for metal working, removes a lot of material without a million sparks in your face. A bit pricey but worth it.

Quality Product
High quality, a little more expensive than the other brands but the performance and durability make it worth the extra money.

A "Must Have" in my glass kit
I've been using the electric model for about 4 years. There is no other tool that I know of that is capable of doing what I use it for which is close work on epoxy fiberglass. I can go into otherwise impossible places, can work small radius', can flatten and taper. Mostly I run 24 grit. When I want more control I put an inexpensive router variable speed unit between the tool and the power outlet and or go to finer grits. In my case I don't have access to air but do have 120VAC so this lets me work. The swing arm joint does need be opened and cleaned as dust builds up which would accelerate wear of the joint. Takes about 5 minutes to open, clean and close. The roller tip bearing gets a small drop of oil on each side every so often. There are two stick on pads on the arm which will wear out and need replacing. The tool is loud. Sometimes for long sessions I wear "ears". The power switch seems to be in the perfect spot to turn it off - mostly when I'm trying to work! Got to learn where to hold this tool to avoid frustration.I've also used this to sharpen abused knives & hachets and clean up metals. The arm folds back onto the motor case and makes a compact item for stowage.Love it.

Overpriced "Made in China" junk
Purchased through a company that sells on ebay and Amazon after using the pneumatic version of the tool at work I really liked it. Received this version and much disappointment. Its the $14.99 harbor freight angle grinder with a belt sander head stuck on the end. The pneumatic version spins fast enough to be very effective but it does not have a lot of torque behind it so its easy to use one handed and even with your reach extended its not going to be a handful and get away from your control. This being nothing but an angle grinder with absolutely no speed control besides 'all of it' its a two handed operation to keep it under control. Add in the heavier chunkiness and this thing has all the attributes of being an overpriced TURD.BIG shame on Dynabrade for selling such a scam product. Crafty in their 'Made in PRC' sticker proudly stuck on the side of their overpriced junk. Why not come clean and just say 'Made in China' and do so upfront

Nice, but . . .
I've owned and used both the electric and pneumatic Dynafiles and found them very useful. A great line up of contact arms are available. My old electric unit was still running after a couple decades of light personal use.My disappointment in buying another unit (Model #40610 bought new through Zoro Tools) is that the motor is now made in China. So what you're paying for is a head worth maybe $100 and an angle grinder of the sort you might find most anywhere for $35. The enclosed literature only lists a 1 year warranty and exludes "bearings, brushes, gears, etc."Still a useful tool and built better than the much cheaper alternatives from the likes of Harbor Freight. But it really ought to be $100 cheaper, given the power unit is now Chinese.

Second Dynafile
I purchased the electric version as a back up and I liked the price. I never use it, it is quite a bit heavier than the pneumatic version making it much harder to use.I use my pneumatic version often and am very happy with it. My advise skip the electric model.I find I'm using and liking this sander more and more. It's nice for larger areas and my compressor doesn't run.
