New BalanceMen's 577 V1 Hook and Loop Walking Shoe

My dad is 84 years old, and his major complaint was that the shoe was too heavy. I don't think it's a bad shoe, just not right for him. (This review is just something to keep in mind if you're purchasing these for an elderly parent.)

Pro: Look good, comfortable, wear well so far, tread grippy but not too much, quick on and off.Con: Top velcro strap an inch too short, must pull it too tight to fasten it.

A really nice shoe, no loose threads, every part assembled correctly. Fits snug compared to the shoes that were made before in China. Probably because the size is truer to the the real foot size. Not a sloppy loose fit as the old China made ones. I like the snug fit because I'm sure they will stretch a little as they get broken in. Smart of new balance to move to a country that cares about the quality of the product they make. I will definitely buy again.

They run narrow for a size Medium. Straps too short, could be longer. Had same problem last time and thought problem had been addressed by company.

Bought for a senior family member that needed support and comfort in a shoe that was easy to put on. This shoe is perfect for all of that. I would recommend this shoe for anyone that has a hard time putting shoes on & needs more stability and comfort in a shoe.

After many years, this is my second pair. The old pair has more Velcro in the fasteners. New Balance needs to be more generous with the Velcro.

I am on my feet all day so comfortable shoes are very important, and must look good in a business environment.These shoes are a good fit all around.Only down side they are a bit slick on wet surfaces.

The hook and loop straps must have a slightly longer loop portion

I had high hopes for these shoes having bought trainers in the States that lasted me 15 years. However these do not have a very soft inner sole which makes the shoe quite stiff. Not as comfortable as my foot joy golf shoes. The heel support is good but if you have a broad foot you would need a wide fitting as the instep is tight on the standard fitting. They are a light shoe. I am still running them in and I hope the leather gets more supple and moulds to my feet. At present they cause my feet to be hot and a bit sore.They are probably the most uncomfortable shoe I have bought and have caused me pain in both of my feet. If I had not tried to wear them in I would want a refund.

Very comfortable and will take medical insoles

My husband had a pair of those before. I looked everywhere to find him a second pair and finally got them from Amazon! They are made of a good quality material and comfortable .The only thing I must say I don’t like about them is that the velcro straps are not very long and therefore a bit hard to shut for someone who has swollen feet.

Purchased a pair, same size same type 4 years ago and they are still in use!! Unfortunately this pair just received fits differently thus had to return them. Was totally pleased with my purchase 4 years ago and would recommend these runners.

The shoes are exactly what we hoped they would be - well made and comfortable. New Balance shoes have always been first choice for us. However, they were not available from their own sources and were impossible to find in the smaller size of 7 and a half in any of the shoe stores we visited. We were very pleased to discover that they were available from Amazon in the size we wanted.
