Good quality cutting blades
The blades work well out of the box on one end only. The thickness is tapered correctly but the cutting clearance on one end is going the wrong way. It was hard to get good pics that show the difference but the first two are the correct cutting clearance on one end and the last two pics show the other end with clearance ground the wrong way. That end likely won't cut and probably jam and break the blade. However, it doesn't need any work done if only the correctly ground end is used.Otherwise I've been using the tool with success.

Good for a beginner
If you have a "cheapie" harbor freight mini-lathe (7x10), then this tool is for you, especially if you're just starting out and practicing.

A good very small parting tool holder and blades at a bargain price!
Fast delivery and good quality at a very good price. This will be useful on my Craftsman Micro lathe making small parts.

Use caution, by doing so, you'll be ok.
No tool included. Not a huge problem, but would've been nice.I used mine yesterday to cutoff a piece of 1.25in OD by 0.75in ID Aluminum tubing, and here's what I ran into...-The cutting blade would slide back into the holder.-The cutting blade also cocked itself at an angle because the holding earea is tooooo small for it.- the holder itself actually bent slightly just from putting force on it to cut through the alum.-Finally, it took me over 1hr to make the cutoff, because of the issues. And my finished cut looked like poop. All in all.If you are patient and are willing to take a long time to make your cut this tool is fine for the price. It's probably perfect for very small work pieces with very soft material..I would never attempt to use this on steel or even stainless because the holder itself has already bent when just trying to cut aluminum. Not to mention the cutting blade holder part of the tool is just poorly designed, and could have really benefited from either a second screw or at least a metal slot to fit into the already existing groove to help stabilize it.
