A much-needed voice
It's rare these days to find someone who's not afraid to defend a position that is actually controversial. I can't say I agree with everything Jack Donovan writes about, but the fact that he makes no excuses for who he is and what he believes in means he has at least a little of my respect.More than that, however, is how much I find myself agreeing with his writings. He has a refreshingly realistic view of the world and writes with humor, clarity, and confidence. What he writes speaks to me and inspires me as a man, and is very much needed in a world that shuns and even mocks masculinity and honor (until it is expedient not to). The essays and speeches in here cover a range of topics, and even if you don't agree with him you won't find a boring or cliche part in this book.As an aside, I read one of his other books "The Way Of Men" before this, and I would highly recommend it as a companion piece that explains how he views masculinity and its virtues (strength, courage, mastery, and honor). It is not needed to understand "A Sky Without Eagles" but if you enjoy this book, it should be next on your to-buy list.

We have lost what we were made of.
I suggest you read Jack Donovan's previous 2 books (The Way of Men and Becoming a Barbarian) before reading this one. There are other books authored by Jack but all 3 books: Way of Men, Becoming a Barbarian, and Sky without Eagles is the complete trio of what masculinity is. As our society grew and changed into somewhat a metro, self-indulged, the me-me selfies society, I believe we (as men) tend to lose (or was lead to forget) the characteristics of what really makes a man. And as technology grew into something that everything was made easier. Sex is easier, porn is easier, and the notion of looking good is the ultimatel attraction to the opposite sex, we now as men no longer carry the true definition of what men really are except a picture of us as just a tool or a vibrator. I suggest you read all 3, starting from The Way of Men.

A Complete Paradigm Shift
It has only been in the last several months that I've become aware of Mr. Donovan, his essays, speeches, and books. Wow, I wish I could've read his material much sooner in my life.If you're a man, and you ever just find yourself fed up with modern society, political correctness, and you're tired of being told what you should be, how you should act, what you should think, or what you should do, you should read this book, and his others as well, and you should also check out his blog.Jack, I could never express what your direct honesty, and your words have done to help me experience a true paradigm shift in my own life. Your dialogue has breathed new life into me, and I'm thankful. You've definitely become a huge role model for me, and your books share the same shelf space in my library with authors like Hemingway, Kerouac, London, Thompson, Thoreau and the like.

I liked the essay about why to train the best
Interesting collection of essays and raises questions and offers insights regarding manhood and modern society, I liked the essay about why to train the best, and think his more profound thoughts center on how and why men should work out and develop themselves physically. I think Jack's writing will become more profound on other issues with age because I think he lacks perspective on many issues like marriage, children, military training, working for a company....etc. simply because he may not have experience with those topics. I think when he pays off a mortgage, raises a kid or two, provides insurance for a family, sends a kid to college, saves six figures for retirement, buys or starts a business...etc. some of his harsher opinions on wimpy modern men might soften a little....

Legend status activated. You will find yourself never wanting to put this one down! Jack Donovan does not disappoint. Even though I had read several of the essays contained within, I couldn't pass on the opportunity to have those and several more bound and waiting for me whenever I needed to reach for some mental deadlifts. I have read this one through twice now, and still look at a few pages at least once a week. I might have to buy another to replace this one, once I have completely beat this one up due to overuse. Jack Donovan is an incredible author. You will never be disappointed by anything he puts out there.

Must read for any Jack Donovan fan
I have checked out "The way of Men" "Becoming a Barbarian" and "A More Complete Beast", I enjoyed all of them, they have made an absolutely monumental impact on my life and world views. I cannot express into words how much his works have touched my soul. This is another great one to add to the collection.

but I personally like the way Mr
Any review for a book has to be somewhat subjective, but I personally like the way Mr. Donovan writes whether or not I agree with everything he writes. His collection of thoughts, essays, and speeches is insightful to a perspective one might not have seen before, but doesn't force it upon you by refuting obvious facts or preaching hate. In a world of political correctness and arguing obscene ideas under the guise of political correctness, Mr. Donovan has managed to pitch common sense to benefit men, and that's a fresh breath of air.

"Yes. Yes. Yes..." is what you'll be saying
Excellent series of essays and speeches. Donovan evaluates modern battles modern men are facing (devaluation of masculinity, racial identity, the question of violence, and even the need to work out) in the most honest-to-god(s), plain English fashion possible. His prose are as down to Earth as they come. Jack's ability to tell things as they are in a very calm, bipartisan, and professional manner are unique. This book is absolutely worth buying. While reading this book you will either find yourself consistently saying "Yes" in a sigh of relief after every sentence or saying "My god. He just deconstructed pacifism in 5 pages."

Brilliant Book
These essays are the remedy for any man who wants to aspire to be something better. To work out in the gym not just to impress women, but to carry his own weight and to have honour. If you liked The Way of Men, this book is an expanded version of what Jack Donovan talked about in that book. In this book, you'll learn about:- What "Mother, May I?" masculinity is- How there is now a Sky Without Eagles- The political position of The Way of Men- Why there is No Honour In Competition With Women- Why violence is the Gold Standard, even in civilised societyAnd more.

Altamente recomendado
