Networking Essentials: A CompTIA Network+ N10-007 Textbook (Pearson It Cybersecurity Curriculum (Itcc))

Terrible book, barely makes a coherent paragraph before delving into some sidetracked topic.
No focus when writing this book. For example, it will explain a concept such as IPv4 and the interrupts the explanation with something like "IPv4 is typically used in most of the internet. The Internet is a XYZ, also an XYZ means that ABC. The internet is also a common thing used by many people. In the 1940's DARPA developed ARPAnet. IPv4 consists of 32 bits."Absolutely terrible book for any kind of introduction to networking. Can barely stay on topic and focuses way too much attention on outdated, unused technologies from 40-50 years ago that are irrelevant today.

Outdated and misinformation
Do not use this textbook to study for the Network+I only bought it because it's required for a class I'm taking, but even then I was shocked at how bad this is as study material. Here's a quote to let you know just how bad this book is (emphasis mine)"The SSID is the wireless service set identifier, basically *a password that enables the client to join the wireless network*."Yeah, speaks for itself, doesn't it?

It's not the best source of info.
This book is ok for research purposes it's so different from the books I am used to when studying for exams. The biggest problem I have is that in most of the books I have used in the past they are very straight forward Read the content review tips answer questions at the end of each chapter and answer key is located at the end of the book. Not with this one there is an extra book that you need to get for the answers the "Instructor" book. really ticks me off when they do this. That's why I gave the book a crappy review. We use these at our school and I am pushing hard so we stop using them in the future.
