Best Floor Cleaning Machine I've Ever Used
I have so many things to say about this product. First, I read the other reviews before I purchased, and I almost didn't buy it because of them. Many people said that when/if they had issues with the product, the manufacturer was very unhelpful and charged them outrageous return shipping costs. I purchased it regardless, but I made sure to buy the Square Trade protection plan (which I usually don't purchase on these types of items) due to the reviews. Therefore, I suggest others purchase the ~$6 3 year plan also.Opening the box: The product is extremely well packaged. You do not have to worry about scuffs, scratches, or broken pieces. As weird as this may sound, this cleaner is also extremely attractive (in comparison to other floor cleaners). It is very well made. The handle is made of some sort of metal--not plastic, and the "paint" on the body of the machine is a pretty, glittery deep red. The cord is graciously long.Assembly: It took me less than a minute to assemble this product. All you have to do is attach the handle to the body and take off all of the protective plastic.NOTE: This product comes with a small bottle of solution, but it does NOT come with the handheld attachment.Carpet Use: The carpet "head" is already attached to the machine. I used it on a rug that is generally very hard to clean due to the type of carpet and the fact that some areas are raised and some are lower. This rug had a huge red stain of sweet and sour sauce (thanks, dog), and I had tried to clean it with a Hoover and Bissell carpet cleaner--even a steam cleaner, and had NO luck. This machine got the stain to nearly invisible. It also worked wonders on pet stains. I used it on "shag" type carpet (second photo) and it worked very well. I used it on that awful economy carpet (3rd and 4th photos), which usually do not come clean, and it worked very well. This is the best carpet cleaner I have ever had, and I even think that it works better than the rentable machines.Use on Hardwood: It worked so well. I have had three machines that clean hard floors, and this machine does a better job than any of those.Use on Tile: I am in love! It works so well and even gets the grout clean.Usage Overall: This machine has EXTREMELY STRONG suction, which is good for cleaning. However, that means that no matter how well you vacuum first, you will likely suck up carpet fibers. The machine is HEAVY, and the weight combined with the suction power makes it require physical strength/muscle in your arm and back. Further, the weight of the machine makes it hard to carry upstairs. I am 31 and did not have any issues, but I do think anyone with any physical ailments in the arm or back, or an elderly person who cannot pick up more than a few pounds, may have issues. My hand is sore (the way picking up furniture causes calluses), so, even though you'll look silly, you may want to wear a glove. However, the quality and performance of the machine makes it worth it to me.Bonus Point: This machine teaches you patience. Yep. I am a person who doesn't have enough patience to wait on fish to bite or thread a sewing machine, but I am learning patience because of this. The instructions tell you that slow passes give the best results, and that is certainly true. You don't have to go as slow on hard floors, but the slower you go, the more dry they will be. However, you have to go slow on carpets.Other than the weight, the only problem I have with this is that I wish the handheld attachment came with it. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this product.

Must have for animals especially puppies!!
I have a German Shepherd/Rottweiler puppy. This puppy is huge and can not hold her bladder when excited and she has a huge bladder. I have mostly hard wood floors with a few rooms with carpet. I usually do not write reviews, but this thing is a life saver! I first mopped the whole house and rinsed the mop head every time before dunking back in the bucket to not make the water dirty. Went over it twice. I then used the rug Doctor flex clean over the twice mopped floor. I couldn't believe the water. This machine sucked up everything between the cracks. The water was so gross and the smell was worse. It is s bit loud, however it's worth the loudness. You do have to make sure the hard wood floor attachment is securely in place or the machine will not suck the water up on the return. It works a great deal better when you sweep or vacuum the floor first. Make sure after every use to rinse the dirty water tank or it will stink. If your floors are level the machine makes suction when pulling back virtually sucking all the water up. I see some water left over in some spots that are uneven and not able to make suction. My wife talked me in to buying the hose attachment and I am glad I did. Cleaned my micro fiber couch like new. Works great on spots on carpet. Also the attachment works great on base molding the machine can not get to. Perfect for our kitchen tile floor with the machine and the hose attachment. Yesterday I cleaned my carpet in my car and cloth seats and wow worked better than expected. Again I have used car foaming cleaner then vacuumed and thought it worked quite well. Then used the hose attachment and again the water was gross and black. I have only carpet cleaned one room. I used just straight water because from prior experience people use to much cleaner products on carpet and it sits down in the carpet. I was right the dirty water was full of old cleaner. After that I used the cleaner and worked great. The cleaner is well worth it. Does not take much and the solution works so efficiently it will do my whole hard wood floors in the house on one tank. Does use quite a bit more on carpet. Way easier than mopping and better clean with less cleaner left on the floor! Hope this helps!

Pro and Con
Just had commercial carpet cleaning of one room and stairs for $150. Not impressed and bought this rug doctor to add one more job to the DIY list. Glad I did. Here are some issues that you might consider. Works great on hard wood floor, but my vinyl plank floor has a slight texture and the surface was substantially wetter after two or 3 dry passes. Had to use a fan to dry floor. Did a large 8x10 area rug that turned out beautifully, and then tried a couple of runners. The suction is so great that it pulled the runner off the floor. I slid one end under a door to keep it in place. All carpet surfaces were obviously cleaner. The machine is quite heavy and when the pull of the suction is added, it was hard to maneuver around the floor, especially on carpeting. By the end of the day, I had a blister on my pinky. The machine was quite dirty at the end of the job and it took me 20 minutes to clean the dirt out of the machine. I am sure that if you don't clean out the various parts that they will get blocked and may not spray or vacuum up the solution. I noticed one negative from other users was the loss of spraying power. One more day for the rest of the floors in the house and I will be at the breakeven with the cost of commercial cleaning. Good purchase!!
