Fabulous acting by all actors. Yang Mi and Ethan Juan were exceptionally compatible to each other in their roles. Hope that they will be paired again in the future films. The costumes and sceneries are beautiful. The only issue that I have is that the directors could have had a cleaner ending as to what happened to the other characters in their supporting roles. Yang Mi is a fabulous actress, you could feel her emotions. Ethan Juan equally was fabulous in his role...loved the little creature that assisted both characters...

Excellent fantasy romance drama w/ outstanding casts & multiple intertwine plots. Intriguing & engaging. The chemistry between Yang Mi & Ethan Juan were excellent. It's one of those movies that I could watch multiple times.

The story, acting and directing: 10/10. The reason why I found it worth keeping ($$) even with the hardware flaws below:DVD quality - 7/10. Needs region-free DVD player. I have a region-free Samsung blu-Ray and it played just fine.DVD settings- 6/10. But then this is primarily because this is made for Brunei and Malaysia audiences. If one didn’t know better, they’d have to suffer through watching long trailers for other tv dramas before they can get to the menu. Fortunately I found that if I hit top menu on my blu-Ray remote, I can skip all that. I dislike that I have to set the subtitles to Eng for every episode if I don’t hit play all.Beautiful packaging but the DVDs tend to fall out if not secured.

and Yang Mi is my current #1 actor/idol, but why is this not in bluray? I doubt I'd buy the bluray for $78, but there is zero chance I'd pay even $30 for DVD. It's far better to watch it in 1080 on Viki.com.The show is set in Ancient China and is more like a very long movie. The same can be said of Eternal Love (Yang Mi), Flame's Daughter (Dilraba Dilmurat ) and King's Woman (Dilraba Dilmurat ). I would put all 4 in my top ten post-60's best tv shows along with Breaking Bad, Lost, The Wire, and X-files. But these 4 shows set in Ancient China definitely have the best outfits, and the best scenery indoors and out, though Lost would win scenery if restricted to outdoors.

Love!!! Want to see a great C-Drama.....this is it! Great acting, awesome chemistry between the two. Definitely going to buy this dvd set. It was so refreshing to see the hero rescuing the heroine multiple times.
