First time drone buyer - Love it!
This is my first drone of any kind and I really like it. It works out of the box as advertised. I was concerned that it was going to be gimmicky (i.e. break quickly), but it is not, instead it is the real deal.Drone: Super durable, I have been learning inside my house and have crashed it a lot and there is not a scratch on it. I was concerned that I would buy it and that it would break after a few crashes leaving me with useless goggles and controller. The fact that I can crash it over and over and actually learn on it is huge for me.Controller: Is great for a me, a first time buyer, I quickly got the hang of arming it and switching to hold when I crashed. I started with the switch on the right in easy mode and soon found I had better control switching to medium difficulty (middle setting on the right switch).Goggles: They are fine, again I am a first time buyer so I have nothing to compare them to. The three straps (two sides and top) are adjustable. They are pretty comfortable.Battery: Fine, I get just over 4 minutes on a charge. I bought 2 additional batteries and I am glad I did since one is not enough.Charger: Works fine, no issues. One side is configure to charge at 0.2amps and one side is configured to charge at 0.6amps. There are little switches to change the charging rate. I don't know why you would charge at 0.2amps, i always charge at 0.6amps.Overall: The image is not super crisp, but good enough. If I fly into another room then the I start to loose the image, but not too badly. I tried flying outside, but because there is nothing to confine me I start to loose the drone (I let it get too far away), so I switched to learning indoors. Flying indoors is forcing me to learn to control it (between the floor and ceiling and away from the walls and obstacles). Since I keep crashing and it is fine, this is preferable to me. I found that flying outdoors during the daytime is difficult, the camera struggles to display the range of light so the ground goes very dark and I can't figure out where I am. The beeping of the drone is super helpful if you are not sure where you crashed, I have used the beeping to find it several times. It would be nice if the camera and antenna could be upgraded to provide a better picture and less interference, but that would probably impact the battery life.I think it is great, I did a lot of research and really wanted a micro-drone that worked out of the box and this does that. I am glad I do not have to do any configuration, I can just plug in the battery and fly. Of course it is not perfect, but it is good enough and for something so small to just work out of the box is awesome.

EMAX Tinyhawk RTF Kit
EDIT: 2019 07 21 - So I thought I would update this review. The TinyHawk has been a blast. I have attached a picture of some additions that I have made to the original kit. (Additional batteries, upgraded antennas) I am continually amazed at the stability of the craft, the ability to bump into things and keep on flying. The DVR footage of my flying was through a pair of SkyZone 02X. I appreciate that the Tinyhawk RTF acts like a bridge from beginner to pilot. It gave me everything I needed at a reasonable price, I can change out components (like the transmitter and goggles). So, yea, I have been pleased with the Tinyhawks design and Emaxs intent for an entry kit with growth capability.I bought this from GagdetBing through Amazon. They were quick and efficient with the delivery. They gave an accurate estimated delivery time. The delivery company alerted me when bad weather had impacted my shipment and informed me there would be a two day delay. They have contacted me in regards to my purchase and asked if I am pleased with it. I am.For drones, I have been more of a consumer grade flier with features like GPS guidance and Return to Home and following capabilities. I got into it because I love the photos that I can capture with these types of drones. However I have loved the video footage that can be made with the use of Freestyle/ Racing drones and I have been curious about getting into flying these craft. The EMAX Tinyhawk RTF seemed like a good jumping off point to get into FPV drones. It wasn’t a good jumping off point, it was great. This thing is incredibly stable in flight and is very responsive with regards to both the controller and googles. Give yourself plenty of room for flight because this thing moves. I have been impressed with its build quality as I have had a few mishaps along the way and have been impressed that the craft was able to be picked back up and ready to fly. This was after falling close to 40 foot on to the concrete and the second crash I caught a wall and sent it spinning into oblivion. It is still flying and look forward to each oppozrtunity that I get to fly. I will say spend the money for about 5 - 6 extra batteries, if you can afford it. It is nice to be able to swap out and keep flying. Each time I fly now I keep contemplating moving up to the next platform size and ability.

Save your money! STAY AWAY. I purchased this RTF kit ($168.00 x2) for my two boys ages 13 and 10. Since they flew them into walls while learning I assumed it was the flying that caused them to break at first, so I just bought them new ones when the first two broke soon after use. FIVE (5) Tiny Hawks later after replacing them as Christmas gifts I had had enough. My son gently flew it into a wall (expected, it is an indoor quad) and the reception from the transmitter was now two feet. I sent to Emax to cover this failure under the warranty. WOW what an experience this has been. They refuse to repair/replace it without charging me. They also will not tell me how much it will cost or what is even wrong with it. Just telling me to approve a blank check. What is really depressing is how the support folks have been speaking to a ten (10) year old in their emails. Horrible treatment and manner of speaking to a ten year old via email. This was the big part of his Christmas gift and it lasted a whole week and then followed up with abusive correspondence and stall tactics by Emax (its eight weeks later and I still don’t even have my broken one back). Save your money or go with a competitor because this product is terrible and the company is even worse. Please remember this is sold as an indoor quad for beginners. But is as fragile as an egg shell. Product is junk so is the company. I will update this review if they ever even return my broken device. For now, complete waste of money.
