Nice and worth the price
This is being used by my daughter as a smaller form of a tablet to watch YouTube, play games, etc. Connects well with my home WIFI and also connects well with my phone hotspot when needed for use on car trips. Nice sleek design and very light weight. Perfect fit for the what we intended to use it for! The battery life is also better than I expected which was a plus. The touch screen work most of the time but it does lag occasionally. Very easy to use and gives you options to help make it kid friendly. Overall, great buy!

Great Price Great Phone
I have had a free government phone for a while. Which is fine and appreciated. But it is a 3G network which means you don't have a very reliable network. And with not just myself but my mom having doctors appointments out of town. We needed a good phone we could trust. It didn't have to be a fancy expensive cell.So I happened to think look at TracFone.I saw this on Amazon and not only is the price perfect. But it is very easy to use which was wanting for my mom. She has never used a smartphone and a little nervous with if she could. This has no bloatware just down to earth Cell Phone. Also it has awesome battery power.I have had i It go 10 hours with normal use without needing to be charged. Thank You TracFone for all you offer for everyone.

Decent Android device for the price
I bought TCL LX 4G Smartphone for $29.99 on February 13, 2019. I use it strictly as an Android device and not as a smartphone, so my review will not have anything on TracFone. I have not tried any of my SIM cards, and I assume the device is locked to TracFone.I was using a Google Nexus 5 as a server for my smart home setup when the phone finally died after almost six years of constant usage. All apps I use need at least Android Lollipop (Android 5.0) to run, but I wanted an inexpensive Android device running at least Android Nougat. I was surprised to see that this TCL is running on Android Oreo, and decided that the hardware / software combination for this phone would be great for me.This device is pretty perfect for my needs. The removed / disabled all pre-installed apps that I could, and the device seems to run pretty decently. I have Termux running on this phone 24/7, and I have not noticed any issues the past five months. As for some negatives on the device, the glass feels rough and the touchscreen is a bit non-responsive. It could also use some more memory and storage, especially with all the pre-installed software. I took some test photos using the camera and the pictures are just okay - this camera will do if there are no other options, but I would try to find a better camera for pictures.I am very happy with this device. The hardware, the software, and the price were all exactly what I wanted, and I would buy this again if I were to go back and do this again. Just make sure to have proper expectations - this is a $30 smartphone and not an iPhone.

Cheap phone for a 10 year old
I saw a few negative reviews on this and thought I'd share my experience on this.It was purchased for my 10 year old daughter who wants a smaller device than her iPad mini to use at home. I wasn't planning to activate the phone service but rather use it exclusively as a WiFi device. Got it on sale for $20 (regular price is $30) and you can't really beat that price. It is a basic smart phone. Decent screen size and camera and decent storage space. And decent speed. For $20, I didn't expect this to have great camera, great speed, big sharp screen or blazing speed that you can play games on.Battery doesn't last 2 days but it's sufficient to last a day under normal usage. The phone is sufficient for a 10 year old who just watches YouTube and text with her friends.I installed Talkatone and it can even be used as an IP phone when she has WiFi. Again, I didn't activate the real sim/carrier voice or data plan and use it strictly as a over the WiFi device. In summary, I didn't have high expectations on camera, screen size, speed..but it definitely is sufficient for a 10 years old.The phone didn't catch on fire neither. Lol

Piece of garbage
Defective battery. Disabled all apps and still the battery drained from 100 to 0 in a few hours.

It’s a smartphone, with near daily OS updates!
I bought this phone during the holidays as an extra phone for my glovebox, in case of any reason. Like an emergency, where my iPhone is out of power, or whatever incident you can think of. It can be nice to have a cheap extra phone. I paid just under $20. Not bad for a fully functional smartphone. I haven’t found any faults with it, except that the camera is not the best, but it’s not bad either. What I have found to be extremely annoying, is that in the last 10 or so days I have been using it, I think I have received updates for its OS almost everyday! Seriously, almost every single day. There may have been one day I didn’t. I know, I know, maybe the updates aren't installing and its the same update...nope! They are each and everyone, new updates. So I am now trying to figure out how to ignore them, and just go ahead and do it once a month or so. But it is tricky! And, no, there is not a setting for turning on automatic updates, so that these could install at night while I’m sleeping. No, just everyday, when I first turn it on, there is a notification for an available new update. Its crazy!Other than that, I have found this $20 smartphone (android) to do what it’s supposed to do. The camera could be nicer, but it does the trick.Just keep in mind, that this cheap phone must have been released without much about its operating system that was already developed, and as time goes by they push out updates extremely often. I guess, perhaps this is a trade off, for spending so little. But, I do pretty much only have it as an emergency phone for my glovebox. And when it comes to calling and texting, it works perfectly!
