It's very good... for the price.
I bought this because I have seen very positive reviews of similar hot shoe mount shotgun microphones and I figured it would be worth trying out, especially considering how inexpensive it was. My first impression of it was that it is surprisingly small. In a sense that's not bad, as it makes it easier to pack away and extremely unlikely to be in frame, even if you are using a very wide lens, but it probably also significantly reduces the effectiveness of the interference tube's ability to cut down on ambient sound. As far as sound quality goes, it's pretty decent actually, and a noticeable improvement over the camera's internal microphones. However, at least with my camera, it did introduce a noticeable amount of hiss, and while it wasn't loud, it was impossible to miss. It became especially apparent when I compered it to a Rode VideoMic, which had absolutely no noise when tested in the exact same environment. So for that reason I did have to ding it a star. However in this mic's defense, the sound from it was much flatter and more natural sounding than the boosted mid tones of the Rode mic.So overall it's definitely a case of you get what you pay for. However since it's so small I'll probably just leave it in my camera bag to have on hand just in case I need to get a quick clip or something, and don't have my full video kit on hand.

Light-weight and easy to use!
The media could not be loaded. This microphone is a great compromise for weight, quality, and price!I'm always very careful with my equipment, but this product makes it that much easier to get EVERY job done. What I mean by this is sometimes, I am hesitant to bring my camera tools to locations or use them for projects that could be dangerous for my equipment, such as a rainy day or a more extreme shoot with a lot of action. In the past, I would have used the on-board microphone to capture the sound rather than 1) risk ruining my more expensive microphone and 2) lug around my heavier microphone. Because of this microphone's price, I can still get the shots I need without worrying about it being ruined if it gets bumped around or splashed. And because of the weight, it's as if it's a part of the camera itself! It doesn't get in the way nor does it weigh down the camera. Now, the quality obviously can't compare to bigger, more expensive microphones, but for its price and weight, this microphone can't be beat.

It Works but has Bad Self-Noise
It's easy to use. It seems like it should be better than it is though. It has a bad self-noise that drives me crazy in post-production. I can't edit it out. It's like a loud whistle-hiss thing. As a YouTuber, I have to say that I'm not happy with it, but it's inexpensive so I guess it's what I paid for. I'll be upgrading very soon to something else, so if you can afford something else, I'd say go for it.

Great little shotgun mic
ProsGreat sound qualitySmall form factorLightweightAdjustable db controlsReasonably long cordConsMic head a little short for a boom micForm cover is a little loose and can slip offOnly one mic head coverLimited db optionsThis is a great little shotgun mic and is very light weight as well which is great if you are recording on the go. I use this with my Canon SL2 and it works great for recording audio. I would highly recommend this item for amateur videos or vlogging.

I cant really accurately answer the question because it's not set up for all cameras as it appears.

Sound quality is excellent for the price
An easy to use, plug and play microphone that can be used on many cameras. I use it on a Sony aA7ii and the sound quality has been excellent. I found no reason to purchase a more expensive mic even for semi-pro work developing training programs.
