Fabulous Lyrics
A very good selection. It's all about the words. â 4 StarsOk, so Iâm the first to admit that Kristofferson as a singer is an acquired taste, but he sure wrote some great lyrics. My personal favourites on this collection are: âWe must have been out of our mindsâ, âMe and Bobby McGeeâ, and the wonderful âSunday Morning Coming Downâ. There are some country classic duets too, featuring Dolly Parton, Rita Coolidge, and Joan Baez in a rendition of âHello In Thereâ that is raw with emotion.Overall, this CD showcases a really good range of Kristoffersonâs work, and is easy listening as country music goes. Itâs also excellent value for money.

Brings back great memories
I am now in my 60s so bought this CD as a nod to my flat sharing days in the 70s in Dublin. Great music and great memories. Always easy listening.

Never Mind The Singer, Hear The Songs
Kris Kristofferson writes brilliant songs - For The Good Times, Help Me Make It Through The Night being the two best well known of his. What is less well known is that Kristofferson has a post-grad Eng Lit degree from Oxford, and the literary quality of his writing is evident in all of these songs. Many of them have been hits for other artists, because the problem is that Kristofferson cannot sing; his voice is not one that anyone would listen to with unalloyed joy - it is like having your t*sticles rubbed with sandpaper. He makes Bob Dylan sound like Andy Williams. However, if you enjoy lyrics and want some rough pleasure, this album provides it with harsh intensity.
