Size:(4.Units) This all-purpose Linemaster foot switch has a reinforced polymeric pedal, a 6' power cord, and a single two-prong outlet for connecting with lights and other electric devices. The 4 amp 125V foot switch allows users to step on the switch's pedal for hands-free on-and-off power. It has maintained operation for press-and-release power activation and termination. The foot switch has a reinforced polymeric body that resists corrosion and rust, and comes with a non-glare finish. Raised ribs on the pedal's surface provide traction, while the non-skip base gives the foot switch stability to prevent sliding on hard floors. Under the foot switch's cover, an integrated adjustable strain relief clamp helps to hold the 6' stranded parallel thermoplastic (SPT) type 2 cord in place. A two-prong plug at the end of the cord connects to electrical outlet, while a two-prong outlet located on the plug's side is provided with a 500W capacity for connecting with the two-prong plugs of the lights or devices to be powered. The foot switch meets Canadian and United States Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards for quality assurance. Intended for light-duty applications, the foot switch provides access to hard-to-reach outlets and switches.

Don't know why I didn't purchase this sooner !
We remodeled our family room earlier this year and, as a result, moved our Christmas tree to a new location. I like that it is more prominent, but the plug is more difficult to get to. Since we get a live tree every year, not only is it inconvenient to plug/unplug it, it rains needles on your head when crawling on the floor underneath it. One evening recently, I was dressed to go out to a Christmas party in black pants and sparkly top. Upon having to get down on the floor (not good with black pants) and then getting my hair caught in the branches, I decided there had to be a better solution. My husband ordered this from Amazon and it arrived in a couple of days. I couldn't be more pleased ! No more crawling on the floor, no more raining fir needles, no more hair catching. Easy to install (just plug it in) and you can press the pedal with your foot without bending over. Consistently works on the first try. A couple of friends came over for lunch and I turned the tree on while they were here. Both commented on what a clever little device this is and discussed purchasing it for themselves.Works exactly as I had hoped and sturdy.

Call mom: It's a switch!
Well, it's a switch. Push it once, something turns on. Push it again, it turns off. Modern technology... gotta love it! I use this in a baby's room to turn on a small lamp (convenient when I'm bringing a newborn to a changing table and have my arms full). The "click" of this turning on/off is pretty loud in a very quiet room. This shouldn't scare anyone away for using it, but it might not be ideal for turning something off in the vicinity of a 3-month old! However, the overall build quality is quite solid the the "pedal" seems like it will hold up for a long time.

Good for a Christmas tree or floor lamp
We have a floor lamp that came with a switch in the cord. That's a rough stretch to bend over and flip the switch. The lamp has three skinny tubes going up to the fixture, so there was no place for the manufacturer to mount a switch at a logical height. This step-on switch fixed the problem. Step to turn on, step to turn off. I just plugged the plug connected to this switch into an outlet and plugged the light cord "piggy-back" into that plug. Easy.

Easy tree lighting
This foot switch was quite the little brainstorm. Our tree at Christmas required the most awkward of positioning in order to plug in every day. I am still not sure how my husband spotted this item but I am so glad that he did. You just plug this foot switch in to the wall and then your lights into the appropriate spot on the switch and put the switch somewhere you can easily press the foot. Instant and easy tree lighting!

Really convenient for a variety of jobs
I use this to help with aquarium maintenance; instead of trying to connect and disconnect pumps when I have my hands full (or when they're just wet) I can click the pedal on/off instead. I would describe this as suitable for light/medium duty applications; it isn't flimsy or anything, but it clearly isn't designed to be stomped on or operated hundreds of times a day. I'm very happy with it given the sub-$15 cost.

solid, functional, lasts forever
I've used this switch daily for over a year and it is still rock solid. The click is very satisfying - more tactile than audible for me - but you definitely know when you've flipped the switch even if the light is in another room. It's easy to operate and very solidly built. I've seen no signs of it loosening up or anything in the year I've been using it and I'm actually just here to buy another one for use with a new floor lamp. It's incredibly convenient to just catch this thing with my foot on the way into the room - much easier to find this thing on the floor than to locate the switch on a lamp in the dark.

We have a tall floor lamp behind our sectional that is a pain in the butt to turn on and off. With this footswitch, it is a breeze.
