HEXBUG VEX Robotics Trebuchet

The HEXBUG VEX Robotics Trebuchet is not only fun for our boys, but also gave them more mechanical and logic skills. Like other building block kits, the VEX trebuchet is pieced together and locks together without tools by following a guide that uses very little words so they don't get confused, BUT they have to pay close attention to the orientation of the pieces. This particular kit builds a working miniature trebuchet that can launch the included projectiles 20+ feet. With that, we also use it to teach them physics - with a lot of fun thrown in. ;) Well worth the purchase.

Bought this for my 9 yr old son and he loves it. He was able to put most of it together on his own following the directions. Its pretty powerful, too. It launched one of the projectiles all the way down the hallway, a good 20-25 ft.

It was a very fun build for a 9 year old. Complicated, but he completed it on his own. It did take about 30 minutes for me to tweak and fix some of it for him once he was finished. If you are not careful a few parts can be put in wrong spot w/o noticing. You have to really pay close attention to instructions. He enjoys it very much.

Know your kid! This build takes patience, attention to detail, a healthy bit of problem solving, but when it's completed, it's impressive. My 10 year old has built most vex robotics kits but this was most difficult yet. He was frustrated, then problem solved and made it work. Builds stick together better than legos, allows for more aggressive experimentation. Highly recommended for right kid.

This is a great set for all ages... I had to build it but my 2 and 4 year old love launching them and then running after them. Would highly recommend. Only negative is it does tend to flip itself over if you don't hold the base.

Awesome toy. My 9 year assembled it over 2 days in about 2-3 hours with a little help. He's had a lot of fun launching the balls down the hallway since then.

I liked teaching my 9 year old about trebuchets, and the patience it takes to assemble one. Then of course the art of destroying targets with them. Great fun project.

Birthday present for STEM enthusiast middle school student, enjoyed assembly and amazed by the long range, 15-20ft.

Bought this for a 12 year old. Instructions were good but sometimes confusing. Finished product is tons of fun. Well engineered toy.
