Great new rule variations! Note that getting everything you need for 5-6 players is quite expensive
You need the base Settlers of Catan (4 player) board to use this expansion. Unfortunately, you're going to need to buy both the 5-6 player vanilla expansion + the 5-6 player Traders & Barbarians expansion if you want to add those extra player slots. So in total, if you want to fully support 6 players, you need ~Rs. 2000 for the base set, ~Rs. 3500 for this, and ~Rs. 2000 x 2 for the respective 5-6 player expansions. So four players costs ~Rs. 5500, while 6 players costs ~Rs. 10000. The pricing strategy employed by the manufacturers of this game is ... prohibitively expensive (and somewhat unnecessary IMO, they should not be splitting things up this much), but I love Catan so much that I decided to suck it up.So I really love Catan. The base game is fantastic, but after 40-50 playthroughs of the vanilla version, I needed a little extra spice in the rules to keep my board gaming friends hooked. The T&B expansion really delivers on that front. I particularly enjoy the 'Fishermen of Catan' and 'Rivers of Catan' scenarios since they are relatively simple and very interesting when played together (there 5 scenarios in total included with this set: Fishermen, Rivers, Caravans, Barbarian Attack, Traders & Barbarians). There are a lot of interesting new mechanics which add a lot of depth to the game: Fish, bridges, the harbormaster, trade tokens, gold coins, barbarians and commodities. The scenarios are a little mix-and-match (my own preference is Fishermen + Rivers) but the Barbarian Attack is also really cool since it stresses a cooperative approach. Not a huge fan of some of the trading mechanics (camels, wagons) because it can get a little overwhelming to keep track of everything. But overall - extremely happy with the purchase. Has led to a really rich Catan experience!

An absolute must for Catan crazy Settlers out there
This is an absolute must if you are a Settlers of Catan fan! Great variations and expansions. Get troubled by Barbarians, send your knights or bypass them.. collaborate and compete at the same time.. more strategic than the basic game
