Brilliantly Written: Deeply Philosophical, Meaningful and Powerful
This book is a powerful and brilliant depiction of human strength and life. It is a bright light shone on the sheer force of the consequences of unearned suffering in the human walk. The truth about life, its differences for each person, our powerlessness and strength, all captured in the central character, Fella.Excellently rendered, with a strong and spellbinding narrative. His family, good fortune and misfortune, and other characters easily recognizable in our world today, make this book pack a powerful breathtaking punch.Although to many, the end of this slave's life was horrific, his accomplishments, intellectual prowess and tangible success, broke existing stereotypes for those, sufficiently cognitively aware in that era, to take note. For me, it was a work of fiction with lessons that remain relevant for life today. It is truth!Fella's suffering was unearned. The circumstances of his birth and life were tragic. However, despite his inability, by virtue of his physical limitations to perform the tasks for which he had been acquired, he still triumphed using his stellar intellectual and creative abilities.Life is what we make of it. The malignant dehumanization of Fella, his family and others because of non-evidence based assumptions about skin color, were revealed in the deeper message of this work, as irrational fabrications.A great piece of work by the talented Obinna Ilochonwu, the author. Its deep philosophical and powerful messaging was resounding for me.This is a book is more than a mere work of fiction. It seamlessly and graphically elucidates profound truths about our shared humanity! Brilliant!Cheers!By Sonia Johnson, J.D., LL.M., LL.M., SPHR, SHRM-SCPExecutive Director, SFERNorth America Division

So Well Written - Twist and Gut Wrenching Layers
I read this start to finish in one setting. Drawn in from the beginning - and encouraged to turn every page in succession was the net of my read.Extremely well written and an great incorporation of history into this story. Agree with others that say "I enjoyed" it is not the right wording. The read definitely affected me and given all the mayhem in the world today - made me pause for deeper consideration. Please write something longer !! Just release it over the holidays so I won't bag out on work to read it all in one sitting again !!

Fella was recommended to me and I ordered it and took it ...
Fella was recommended to me and I ordered it and took it to pass time on a recent flight.I was pulled in from the very 1st page. Actually, more like the prologue before the 1st page. The writer, Obinna draws you into the life of Fella and by the time you are done with the book you can't stop thinking about him.A truly gripping and engaging book, I couldn't wait to turn the page to find out "what next". In fact I had to chide myself to read slower. The writer is a gifted storyteller that draws you into the life of the characters through his words in a way that engages all your senses and makes it impossible to put down the book.Captivating 1st book by Obinna. Can't wait for book #2, and #3 and #4......

Excellent story-line, so well written
This is really an excellent read. The essence of the story line is so brilliant and so well written. I won't give away too much of the story. The author has excellent command over the English language and is able to graphically, convey scenes and emotions in words. It made reading an immersive experience that I truly enjoyed. Two thumbs up!!!!

Well researched, short but epic storyline
Very short but epic story about the experience of a gifted/talented genius who was unfortunate to have been born black during the slave trade era. The novel opens with the dilemma of Fella then goes a few years into the past to unfold the series of events that led to his dilemma. A very sad but well delivered story. The reader cannot help but wonder if such a character actually existed as he is woven into the history of America in a way that feels real

A page turner!!!
Where do I start??Such a page turner, so well written, a very unique story line. I pretty much read the book at a stretch without dropping it for a minute. I lived through the experience with the character, Fella. Such an intellectual who was shortchanged by life. I wanted so much more for him.... The author is certainly a rising star, can’t wait to read more books from him..

I found this book very interesting even from the first page. I was curious to know what became of Fella. The author took us on a journey and I honestly felt like I was watching a movie literally as I read it. Will definitely recommend this book to friends.
