The Panasonic GX7 Menu System Simplified

Great addition to the owner's manual
One of the amazing things about the Panasonic Lumix GX7 is the owner's manual. Firstly, you only get a hard copy of the Basic Guide with the camera. Then after you download the full manual you find that it is very sketchy in some important places. Such as using the Custom Settings. This book is a great addition to the full manual as it fleshes out the Custom Menu settings in a very understandable fashion.

Has all the basics
If you take this for what it is, a list of all the menu items in the GX7, then it's great. Gives clear instruction on each ones use. It does assume that you have reasonable photography knowledge so is not a full instruction manual. I bought it for my GM1 which I just purchased while I am waiting for a specific book for that model to be published. It bit of converting to do but follow it OK.

Cheesy quality and presentation, but useful information.
This has the minimalist quality of a self-publication, with practically no illustrations. It should be considered as a supplement, or "amplification" of the nearly useless basic manual provided by Panasonic with the GX7. As such it has value, worth the reasonable price considering the time it must have taken to plow through the entire camera menu. Unfortunately, the only two good books on the GX7 are only available in German.

Understand the GX7 Menu
This is a no-nonsense review of the GX7 menu system and how you might use some of the many options. David Thorpe is clear and concise in detailing the menu and explains how he uses the the various settings in his own photography. If you have a GX7, this is a good buy to get you started and to help you make the most of this fine camera.

Very Helpful
It is very helpful in understanding all of the controls and menus of the camera. It helped me in figuring out which menus I will use the most and it explains thing much better than the on line owners manual.

Menu choices explained
This book provides a clear and concise description of the menu choices along with the author's preferred settings which gives you a great starting point. As you use the camera you will find changes that may better fit your shooting style. This is a great resource to get you up and running.

A useful supplement to the GX-7 manual.
A short and useful supplement to the camera's manual, which is not that bad. I particular like the authors side comments on the use of some setting and his presentation on how his GX-7 is setup.

Getting to Know Your GX7
Great overview of the excellent Panasonic menu system which is a refreshing alternative to what some find too complex in the Olympus cameras. Owning both the GX-7 and an E-M1, I'm inclined to agree. Each detailed menu item review provides some context on not only what the item controls but why you might want to use the feature. Things that aren't readily apparent but immensely useful are highlighted in this resource, for example, I was not aware that the touch screen could be used to move the focus point while you're looking through the EVF--outstanding feature.

An Absolute Gem
I watched all of David's YouTube videos before deciding to move to Micro Four Thirds cameras from the world of DSLR and in particular on choosing the GX7 as my camera. (If you've not watched them by the way, I highly recommend them!) Normally I would avoid Cliches like the plague, but this little gem of a book does exactly what it says on the tin - OK to be more accurate, what it says on the glossy paper cover. It simplifies and guides you effortlessly through the menu system of the GX7 in a real no nonsense way. As I read each part I could hear David reading it to me in his inimitable style. No fancy graphics, no wasted words, just a simple, sensible layout that will help you get to grips with your GX7's menu, which as David himself says is logically laid out on the camera, but is to put it mildly quite substantial and this book helped me enormously. Best £6 I have spent in a while.

Good inexpensive helping hand to the GX7
Better than nothing but tends to skip over stuff a bit quickly! Writers settings a bit weird but hey it helps even though I'm a Lumix user I found it useful. The most confusing thing is the ability occasionally to block out the multi picture function from its tab. Really annoying that. I'll get round to putting it in quick menu I think. If the camera has a fault it's the missing blue button from the true G series which I found super useful. The writer says the iA+ function is a bit redundant but I think it's a really useful feature and think I might use it sometime as it's like using a program without the need to do so but yet you have the flexibility to modify an otherwise fully automatic set up. As I tell Raw manual shooters I don't drive my automatic cars in manual and the Lumix Cameras get auto so right you rarely need anything else but it's there when you do need something else

ひどい本です
絶対に買わないこと。わずかのページしかなく、しかも何かオペレーションのメモ書き程度のものが数百円するとは思えない。全くの詐欺まがいの商品でした。
